Not sure if anybody follows racing on here. I know some people do not like watching cars drive in a circle for 3hrs. But I am so glad he finally got that monkey off his back. Even better he made his poppa proud by doing it on fathers day!!!

Kpr ,yea i'm a die hard fan, i'm a Big gordon fan it was nice to see Jr. finally win one, his last win June 15,2008 and 143 races,overall a great day for Hendricks racing everyone in top 10 except Kahn who was involved in that wreck.

I met his old man at Mente Chevrolet in Kutztown. Great dude. Going through childhood with an older brother that loved Dale Sr., fandom for Dale Jr. was natural. Good work kid.

I go to about two races a year. I'm a huge Joey Logano fan. I was happy to see Junior win though.

First time I every seen Juniors girlfriend. Damn she is smoking hot to, which isn't a shock he is the biggest name in that sport.

He's been racing well all year. It was just a matter of time till he got one. It's great to see him win a race. It's good for the sport like Tiger winning a major.

I'm a huge Edwards fan myself, but it's great to see Jr. end the winless streak. NASCAR really needed him to win one. And to echo everyone else: first time I've ever seen him with a chick too (and a damn fine one at that). It always made me wonder if he was playing for other team if you catch my drift...

Huge junior fan and glad to see him finally win. He's struggled quite a bit and most of it his doing. I think in years past he's had too many other distractions and hasn't been as committed to racing. I think he's finally grown up and is starting to live up to expectations this year. Good to see. He'll never be his dad, because his dad was absolutely fearless in the car. He was driven to win at all costs. Hopefully Junior is on his way to some more wins.

You're right, he will never be his father. But not to many drivers will be Dale Sr. He was the man the intimidator and the 7 time champ. I agree junior will win some more races heck he should've won at Pocono. I think he has his head on straight again.

I am a big fan of both Gordon and Johnson and have been for years. I thereby generally root for any Hendrick driver, so I am fine with Jr. winning. I think he's a pretty good guy, and I have nothing against him personally....but I have always disliked his fans. He is an okay driver, and that's about it. He's having a good season, but he has been the face of NASCAR for so long now and for no real reason other than who his father was. That bugs me. The only thing that kept me from really disliking him was the fact that he never seemed to act like he was any better than he was....it seems clear that he knew he had no control over the size of his fanbase, so why fight against it? I am OK with that.

Really good points. If he was cocky or had "moxie" he would drive me nuts, but he doesn't present himself that way at all.
...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"

Yea alot of the fans he's has were fans of his father first, including myself. I think he has gained alot of fans on his own as well. Agreed he doesn't come off as cocky or anything. Actually it seems like he doesn't like being the center of attention. If you look how he conduct his interview he almost seems kind of shy and doesn't like doing them. Which is fine by me.

I think he has struggled early "assuming" the fan base from his dad. I'm sure he felt the pressure to live up to his dad and felt it. He's generally a humble guy and had to go through a difficult decision to join another team when the direction of the team was divided because of his step-mom. Very challenging, but overall he's a pretty good guy. His fans are are rapid and very obsessed with him but there is no doubt that NASCAR does well when Junior does well. i even find that I'll change the channel if Junior wrecks or is a lap or two down. I want him to do well and I suspect many fans are like me.
