In case anyone cares...

  • Cowherd has been talking PSU heavy this morning and stands on the side that the NCAA doesn't have the jurisdiction to do anything nor should we want them to have it. I don't know to be happy or worried with him being on the side of common sense. Also, Christian Dyer(sp?) from yahoo sports is about to come on and may have a contrary opinion. Will see if Cowgerd holds his stance or not.

    Cowherd is about ratings, so taking a contrarian opinion gets ratings. With the email snippet leaks lots of folks are outraged at PSU and want NCAA blood, so he takes PSU's side to get reactions.

    Oh, I know, trust me. I was really trying to listen to the tone and if it sounded genuine. Having heard him over the years, I felt he was genuine in his assessment of the situation. I don't care other than the impact he can/may have on the general public's opinion. If he is fueling the fire by making our case, I'm all for it.

  • I don't care for the guy but FWIW, he said PSU was a world class University and complimented many of the alumni.

    If there's one thing I want the nation/world to know, it's this. A few cowards don't make up an entire University and 500,000+ strong alumni. We will bounce back from this. It will take time, but in the end, this scandal will make our University a better place and the world a better place too.

  • Wasn't Cowherd the one saying previously that PSU deserves the death penalty, yada yada? I thought a number of people on here had been really upset over what he was saying about PSU.

    Yeah he is, but at this point, I'll take any type of positive comments from anyone with a national radio show. He gave some examples on why PSU shouldn't / won't get sanctioned.

    What has come out is absolutely despicable, but I can assure you that things just as bad occur at other places. There is no doubt that this is the ugly side of life and tragedy. It happens in the business world, it happens in church's, it happens in hospitals, it's happened in our government, and deplorable things happen at our beloved university. Yes, we have a major black eye and finger pointing going on...just like at every other place that this has happened. The time is now for action and to turn something bad into something good. To put measures in place to prevent anything like this from ever happening again. To empower people to have a voice and not be silent. To rise up and be heard...not just in this but everything that's right and just. That's how we all can make a difference. Do you have that strength? Everyone should after having lived through this!!!
