I'm not a Steelers fan...

The same people that yell "FIRE ANDY REID!" one week don't deserve to call anyone a bandwagon fan the next.

You also haven't dealt with Andy Reid for the past 10+ years either, haha.

The only thing I've gotten from this thread is that people truly have no idea what there talking about when they use the term "bandwagon fan". Because so far, no one has used it correctly.

  • Welp, put ourselves in this situation.

Win out we are in. Win next week against Cincy, proceeded by Cincy losing to the Ravens, we are in.

lots of transplants and bandwagon fans winning does that.... Yankees have a lot too... but when it gets tough the fans disappear

LOL -- Clueless. That may be true for Philly fans, but this is the worst Steeler team in LONG time, and they're still 50% of the crowd in Dallas.

Dude this team should be playing for a draft pick. They suck. I'm not calling for Tomlin's head yet, but if he doesn't fire Haley in the off-season, I may.

cry me a river.... nothing special about Steeler fans... not being different than other fan bases is not a bad thing... Their fans jump off the team as fast as any and get on a good team as fast as any

  • Much easier to purchase an extremely overpriced ticket for 1 game every 4 years than it is 8 times a year. So of course all the Steelers fans are gonna come out to the palace for today's game.

"cry me a river?" Huh? Nobody is crying. It is what it is. Steeler fans dominate, even when our team sucks.

There was a very large Eagles contingent in Tampa last week despite how much we suck. You can't compare 7-6 in playoff contention to 4-9 and hopeless. The context of regime exhaustion and apathy should also be considered. The Eagles still drew well for a lot of years in the 90s when they flat out stunk. The Steelers and Packers have the best traveling fan bases in the league, but Philly isn't too far behind. Bandwagon towns are places like Tampa, Miami, and Phoenix.

I had a feeling this thread was going to turn into another "My river is longer than yours" debate.

So because you want you're coach fired because you're team is 4-10 makes you a bandwagon fan. Ok makes sense

  • So the claim is that when the Steelers don't win their fans don't show up (which to an extent is true with nearly every team everywhere of all time), and the best example that has come up was back in 69-71 they weren't a big deal? Really? Sorry for not taking data from 40+ years ago too seriously. Or better yet, sorry they don't lose very often.

Then again according to Boulder I "hate" the Steeelers, so why would I defend them...

But there is not a more national team than the Steelers. Lots of yellow towels in "America's Team's" stadium.

I am a Steelers fan I can tell you a lot has to do with the moving away from western PA since the steel mills left but it is still pretty impressive.

  • TIFWIW, but a large portion of Dallas's fanbase is lower-class families, and the ticket prices at JerryWorld are much higher than they were at Texas Stadium.

They may have fallen over the past year, but my freshman year they were significantly higher than they were before, and many fans didn't think it was worth it to pay what they used to for 15 or 20 yard line seats on the lower level to get upper deck seats in the corner of the endzone.

All those Steeler fans didn't equal a win, too bad.

I never said Eagles fans were bandwagon fans, or bad fans, or fair-weather fans, or didn't travel well (regardless of record). I really don't know. Just an FYI -- Since you quoted my post as if you were replying to it.

Finally someone understands the term bandwagon. The Miami Heat are the best example of bandwagon fans. Not Steelers or Eagles fans people.

The fact you mentioned cheesesteaks shows you know very little about Philadelphia & you're going by nothing more than the national misconception.

??? We played a practice squad guy at CB, and a 7th rd draft pick at RT... We are the most injured team in the league... We are not a bad team... Woodley is still not playing. I could go on and on... but we are a few starters away from winning- a lot.
