These are definitely not the brightest days for The University, faculty, students, alumni and fans. It is sad that the actions of a few have brought so much down on the many. Who knows the whole truth about the atrocities that were allowed to happen at a place many of us have called home for some point in our lives. My heart pours out to what those kids had to go through and their families had to endure for so long. While I feel sadness today I hope that this is a lesson learned by everyone about doing. It is often said "all evil needs to do to triumph is for good men to do nothing". Maybe this will add some more closure to the victims in some way or form. It seems that what has been imposed upon Penn State may be more than what we had hoped. However this also a point at which we need to use to start to heal as well. Nothing can undo what has happened; not flooding of detrimental media, not sanctions and not silence. I will also, stay and stand for all that my alma mater truly means. God Bless the victims and their familes. And ask for guidance for the my brethern at Penn State who will stand in this wake of disarray and create a new start.

Best post I've read on Lion's Pride. Worth reprinting.

  • I am staying...I don't give up on things I love...I am still a proud Penn Stater

  • I am staying, too, as long as you guys don't mind a woman still hanging out here. Felt a lot of things today, but I can say that although I am ashamed of our administration and BOT, I will NEVER be ashamed to bleed Blue and White. They can bend but never break us. Whoever runs out of the tunnel and onto the field on Sept. 1, I will be there cheering and supporting with all my might. Good luck to all the members of this team, whether they stay or leave, and I look forward to watching any recruit that chooses to come to Penn State. Through adversity we will prevail....because it's who WE ARE!

I've seen a lot of posters talk today about leaving the 247 community, wanting refunds for their season tickets, not watching any more college football, and not wanting anything to do with Penn State University.

I am here to tell you I am staying! It was truly a dark day today for Penn State, but the actions of our head coach, students athletes, alumni association, and some of our 2013 recruits really made me proud to be a Penn State grad.

I am not going to turn my back on this great community 247 has set up for us. Quite to the contrary, I want to volunteer my help to this board in any way I can. Sean, Cory, Matt, etc., please let me know anything I can do to help US get through this tough time. I write for one of the nations largest sports blogs(SB nation), and I also coach football in CT. Although my knowledge may not be as great as the previously mentioned contributors to this board, and although I am new, I will gladly volunteer any time I have to help restore the roar to the greatest Penn State site on the Web.

I hope others will stick by our great University, and this great site, as we endure what could be the darkest time in the history of Penn State.

  • I could think of many worse things to do with $10 a month than to spend time with my fellow Nits. I've already pretty much accepted what our product on field will be, and am trying to reconcile that. My first step in moving forward is trying to figure out how I can best help to remove our impotent President, acting AD, and BoT leadership circle. But one thing I am sure of is that I am as proud to be an alum of this university today as I ever have been. Count me in.

  • The Alums, the current students, the former players, and the fans need to band together and show our undivided support for every part of this team. We have to show the world that no matter how cowardly our leadership is that we are strong and come out on top. They all want us to be the bottom feeders of the BIG10, they think they are going to teach this proud tradition Humility. Well I for one am going to stay proud and keep doing everything I can to show my support. As for you who are bailing I feel sorry for you.
I am hoping to see our sidelines full of letterman at each and every game and I think BOB and staff are going to keep hitting the recruiting trail. This is only going to hurt us if we let it hurt us.

  • Is the sky still Blue & White above Mt. Nittany!!I Yes!!! Its time to come together!!! WE ARE...FOREVER PENN STATE and we ARE going to stand up & fight for the blue & white!!! I'm in....no doubts!!

  • I'm in for the long haul. I've rooted for the Pittsburgh Pirates the last 20 years so I'm conditioned to stick with a sub par team if need be.

  • I also will never turn my back on Penn State. If the students and Alums dont stand by our school now who will? Our BoT is incompetent, our president knifed us in the back, our governor is against us (unless of course it will help him win an election) and the press will always be there to present every negative it can imagine. And then of course the NCAA.

I understand those who want their season tickets refunded. This isnt what they bargained for. But please reconsider. Support those who decide to stay at the school we all fell in love with. The next years will be tough but we can also look at it as an opportunity to show everyone what Penn State is really all about. We will NOT rise again. We will NEVER go away!

    Now, about that Step program....

  • asking for refunds for tix or the website is asinine, if you are a fan, then you remain a fan, and you should support your team.

but of course, everyone outside PSU will be disgusted when they do the "we are" chant

  • Just to chime in...I will attend more games now than I otherwise would have (distance an issue). I really think BOB will get the team back sooner than a lot of the talking heads thinks and it will be a great thing to watch.
