If this Saban talk is true...

  • I know it's putting the cart before the horse but it can't hurt to dream. If Saban becomes HC at PSU what comes first?

    1. PSU = National Champs
    2. Meyer quits OSU, 2 much stress & Saban owns him
    3. Notre Dame jumps in the Big Ten bandwagon

    I did. Although 'talk' is not true, it's not 'false' either. At this point with what we know anything is possible. While doubtful that the new HC is Saban {more likely Tim Murphy}, we can't rule anyone out at this point given what little we know.

    It's amazing how opposed psu fans can be to oversigning until we think we're getting Saban. Sort of like how we're jazzed to get Urban Meyer, then he goes to ohio state and we suddenly remember his scummy recruiting tactics.

    I completely agree. Meyer was the best possible hire according to many on here. Now that he's with OSU, there's a whole lot of hate from many of those same coaches.

    It's how things work unfortunately. Many hate on oversigining then would love Saban. It happens everywhere. Many OSU fans had bad things to say about Meyer when he was at Florida and when he left for "medical issues" and now they love him too. It happens all over. Kind of funny.

    I've seen things that make me agree with you and things that make me think otherwise. For example, I dont think our fans would ever treat a recruit the way ohio state fans have treated kyle kalis this year.

    Maybe, but for that specific example, PSU doesn't have a rival for a recruit to choose similar to what OSU has in UM. Overall, maybe some have more crazy fans in other places, but as a collective, I don't think our fan base is much different from other big football schools.

    Thanks... And good luck to you guys. I really hope that whole cheating and NCAA slap on the wrist thing doesn't hurt you too much. I really resect how you guys always give it your all to win, even if that means chea... I mean bending the rules a bit.... tgo get those wins. And now with urban meyer you might stop trying to make the conferenced suck against the SEC.

    For all of our sake, I really hope for the best for you guys. I wish you guys the best. It would be cool for you guys if you could again be proud of rooting for a program that was/is known for cheating to win.

    This is unreal, Oversigning WILL NOT happen in the B1G! It has been banned by the conference since 1956. The only reason this happens in the SEC is because they created a rule which allows them to do so. You can't be mad at the SEC coaches for playing by the rules they've been given. The coaches could chose not to oversign, but that puts them at a disadvantage against every other school in the SEC that is doing it.

    This is the key. Saban didn't oversign at MSU.
