The majority of students will be at the stadium on time this year in order to support this team. The real question is will the alumni and other fans not sit on their hands during every single game. Also the students sold out their tickets. Ticketmaster still has tickets available for the Ohio game, so lets get these sold. The last thing to be worried about is student support.

  • Man, I'm going to have to get my ass to a game this year. It's a bit harder being up in CT now, but I gotta stop making excuses. I coach football so it's so hard to make those early Saturday games when out team plays on Friday night, but I'll have to suck it up, get my ass up at 5 am, and make the 5 1/2 hour drive.

  • Ahh the 'ol late-to-the-game hungover students vs the quiet old alumni argument... don't usually get that til after the first game

Thanks man..Seriously Get there!! There no way they can stop us if we continue to pack the place. And really it not a chore because these guys (BOB, Fitzy, etc) totally have my committment...But thats not saying much, cause I am tottally behind these guys. If I could play I would run through a wall..

I hope you're right about the students. Student tickets sell out every year but leave plenty of empty seats, especially for noon games against no-name opponents. The entire stadium takes their cue from the student section. If the students are involved, the alumni will be too.

I'm one alum you don't have to worry about. I'll be loud and proud, like always.

  • Totally agree. I think for some it is hard to justify the costs and that is understandable. I'm pretty confident that the people that are there really want to be there. That is what excites me. The crowds might be a little smaller, but I think more electric.

    This.

What the hell do they care if the students show up? One quiet fan who never yells makes as little difference as a student who doesn't make it into the stadium.

Students will get their shit together and be there, in general, and we'll make a hell of a lot more difference than anybody else in that stadium.

The message board community isn't the group people need to worry about. It's the 60+ age group that doesn't want their view of a good football game obstructed by a screaming younger person.

I understand both sides of the argument, but when the alumni start complaining about student support somebody has to put them in their place. No hard feelings.

I would say students that don't show up and alumni that bitch about people being to loud both need put in their place. And that place would be without a ticket.

Well this is what happens when you build a 108,000 seat stadium when demand really calls for 100,000.

It's better to be legitimately sold out at 75,000 than undersold at 120,000. We still have an impressive home crowd, because of the students, but there's too many empty seats at the top of the Beav. JMO.
