The QB situation at PSU is not good. Too much drama. Jones could be gone if he doesn't get the grades up; Bolden could leave depending on what unfolds on the "QB competition". The only thing you have for sure are McGloin and McGregor as well as Morningwhig for 2012. That isn't good.

I would think that Bolden has the upper hand, especially now that Newsome is gone. It may force the coaches hand in this situation, IMO. That is unless Bolden really sucks ass and MM does well, but I expect them to perform pretty evenly.

Remember when Clark was the QB and Devlin left? They were so fearful of Clark getting hurt because there was no quality backup. Now it's even worse.

we didn't play michigan in 04, did you mean wisconsin 04 or michigan 06? we played our 3rd stringer in both games..

If he hadn't played in a wing-T, he would've been a well recruited player. I think it's well within the realm of possibility that he makes a positive contribution here.

The bottom line is that 95% of college teams would be in deep trouble if they lost their first two QBs. Newsome leaving isn't going to change anything. He would not have taken meaningful snaps this year anyways, and if he did we were still going to be in trouble.

K.New hasn't showed me anything on the field in the past 2 + years including springs. IMO not a big loss. Wish the kid all the luck in the world, but honestly the only news he will make is potentially with his music.

Tru dat. Newsome was the first guy in at the beginning of the season, to spell Bolden in mop up duty. (maybe to the 4th game or so?)

He was also the first called in when Bolden went down. He couldn't find his shit so the other guy went in, and the rest is.............................................

I think it changes if Jones can't get his academics in order. If he doesn't make the grade in the first semester, then it changes everything IMO.

Yes, but Newsome still started the 2nd half after McGloin fizzled in the 1st half. Newsome tucked and ran on all 3 pass plays called, the last of which went for a 7 yd loss. McGloin was back in the next drive, and that was the last we saw of New New.

Newsome was #2 on the DC going into the Minny game. That's why he got so mad on the sidelines when Bolden went down and the staff put in McMuffin, the #3 guy. The commentators even made a note of the way Newsome looked on the sideline.
