Before anyone asks, yes Penn State is recruiting big men, there just isn't much to update as of now. I hope to have more on the bigs as the AAU season progresses.

so Andrew - Jeter, Terrence Jones, or jucos will be the only potential uncommitted newcomers who can play for PSU this fall? The Cali guys are all '13 and any other transfer will need to sit out until 2013.

That I am aware of, yes. There could be 2012 players being released from LOIs due to coaching changes the staff can start recruiting, but no PSU connections have popped up yet. I'll be monitoring it.
And thanks to everyone posting the kind words, I really do enjoy covering both sports and am glad to provide you all with updates. It isn't as frequent as I would like but I'm doing all I can.

One player to keep an eye on is Baltimore (Md.) Texas A&M Corpus Christi junior guard Terence Jones. Jones averaged 13.7 points a game last year for the Islanders in the Southland Conference, earning Honorable Mention All Conference honors. Starting 29 of the teams 30 games last year, the former Notre Dame Prep player hit 68 threes and shooting 36% from beyond the arc.
Already on the verge of completing his third year in Texas, Jones is a candidate for a graduate transfer, and would be eligible to play immediately in the fall. With only nine players on scholarship at this point for the Nittany Lions next season, a graduate transfer would add immediate depth and experience.

Just an update, Jones (profiled in the quote above) is coming in for a workout today, per his Twitter and @BSD_Eric.

I don't doubt you know someone Carlisle, but can you define bad for me?
I have some personal experience with the basketball team from before Ed and from during Ed's tenure. Needless to say, Ed was a breath of fresh air when he came into what was the worst BCS-level basketball job in the country by every measuring stick. Jerry Dunn was probably the worst HC in the country at the time. If not for the Joe Crispin and that senior class's run to the Sweet Sixteen, Jerry would have been gone by 2002.
Ed at least brought in good players who played hard for him and, more importantly, he changed the financial committment, culture, and vastly upgraded the facilities at Penn State which made the job reasonably attractive after he left for Navy. Chambers would have never come to Penn State if the program was in its 2004 condition when Ed took over. That's at least one thing Ed did right.
Nevertheless, I agree that Chambers has done and outstanding job and will continue to take the program to new levels of national respectability.
We have a lot to be thankful for as Penn State fans right now, with BOB, Chambers, Cael, et al.
