The main problem for Penn State here (other than, um, the shooting) is that Minnesota makes teams play a physical, fouling style of game. The Gophers have the depth that they can afford to play that way. Penn State does not. Can see the fouls adding up quickly in the second half.

Something to watch for today -- what Ross Travis, a Minnesota native, is able to do not only on the boards against one of the Big Ten's top rebounding teams, but how Penn State is able to run some offense through him in the low post as it did against Michigan, which created opportunities for Sasa, Newbill and Marshall.

Minnesota has a much longer frontcourt than Michigan. Not sure that is a good comparison. They have Rodney Williams, who is just a more complete version of Ross Travis. We have no one who compares to Mbakwe. We need to hit perimeter shots to be competitive today.
So we have 8 points with 4:00 to go in the half. This is the team I have lost all passion to watch. Michigan is better than Minnesota, but the Gophers play better defense and is harder to come back on. Down 13 may as well be 21.
