Hoops Big Ten Tournament Info

  • Penn State is the #12 seed and will face #5 Indiana on Thursday at around 2 PM Eastern.

Indiana won both matchups during the season, first in State College on 1/8 by the score of 88-82, followed by a meeting in Bloomington on 1/22 73-54. Tim Frazier had 20+ in both games.

The winner of this game goes on to face #4 Wisconsin on Friday. I've attached a bracket tree photo for the whole tournament.

  • Going to have to guard the perimeter to have any chance whatsoever.

  • not a good match up for us.. hate to say it.. but if we can put up a fight like we did when both teams first met n the boys play their hardest n give it their all, then ill b really happy.. coach chambers has done a really good job regardin the mentality of this team.. they go out n work their butts off every game.. and thats wht i want to c.. so we win some n we may lose some.. ok, we had more loses than wins.. but jus give coach some time to get HIS players and we shud b in the NCAA tourny every year.. forget this year, everyone knew how this year was gonna turn out.. i believe in him n the kids hez recruitin to PSU.. he will get us there.. we (PSU Nation) jus need to support him n this team..

  • It was exciting to see the kids putting themselves out there this year. We pretty much knew this year would be a disaster. They never stopped hustling though and help is on the way. Hoping we're middle of the pack next year and climbing.
That said, Indiana needs to be ice cold from the outside for us to have any chance, and we pretty much know how that seems to go.

  • 12th seed, I hate seeing that. These kids played their hearts out this year. Nice comeback against Michigan but came up short. I wouldn't be surprised if PSU upset a team in the tournament.

  • It seems like we play Indiana every year in the opening game of the Big Ten tournament.

  • No where to go but up in the coming years. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this program with the recruits Pat is bringing in. Hopefully we can make a little noise in the conference tourney and get some momentum heading into next season.

PSU played Indiana close at home 82-88 then blown out away 54-73. I wonder which team will show up for the tourney?

Haha pretty spot on. Penn State has played Indiana 3 out of the last 4 BTTs (2009, 2010, 2012).

Random side note, Penn State has alternated between the 6th seed and the last place seed the past four years. PSU held the 6 seed in 2009 and 2011, and the last place seed in 2010 (the 11 seed) and 2012 (the 12 seed).
