    I like his film. He moves well for a guy his size... Think he'd be a heck of a TE or DE. I don't know what his level of interest is... I wish the new staff would give him a call to gauge it. It's a new day JP. Come back... Sean and Pat would know better about his interest though... I don't know if we burned any bridges though... Even if we did, let him know that everyone is new. And we have a pressure system on defense and will actually feature the TE heavily on Offense. Both would cater to your strengths young man. Interested to hear what Sean and Co. have to say though...

  • I am Typically not someone who says who cares we dont want him after a kid decommts, but I don't want Holtz.

    Don't see a position for him, step to slow to play lb. too small to play de. just don't like his potential. Was kinda happy when he decommitted.

    I realize it's of no use at this point, but... I dunno man, kid is 6'4. He's 240. He could play DE... All he would need to do is put on 20 lbs... And that wouldn't be too tough considering his frame... But, he's moving on, and so are we so... Deuces JP.

    He was recruited as a "jumbo athlete" aka DE/OLB hybrid. I wasn't saying that he COULD play the position, I was saying he is a DE lol. An undersized one right now, but one that can run the curve and get to the QB. Also, I disagree that we are "set" at DE... We have a lot of unproven depth... But there are a lot of unknowns there... I love Deon Barnes potential though... But with pretty much everyone there (except Stanley to a lesser extent after playing significant mins this year, and don't forget Massaro is coming back from yet another injury) it is just that, potential... No proven commodity, even among the starters, let alone the backups that haven't played a down...

    I read somewhere that they recruited him as a FB, and that made sense, and they could certainly use one because ZZ will be the only FB on the roster after next season. So from that perspective I see losing him as a hit until they find someone else to plug int here.

  • I have seen him play both football and hoops this season. He is definitely worth pursueing! He is a throw back "play anywhere" type kid. DE,MLB,FB and TE. I like him on offense best. He is strong tough and fast enough for TE - FB. He played some WR this season. He is clearly one of the top couple of players in the WPIAL. In the game I saw he played mostly at primary RB or split wide on offense. On defense he played MLB.
    Again, in my opinion, he is atleast top 5 in the Wpial. Maybe top 3.

  • It's fair to hope that a "play anywhere" type kid might fair a bit better under this new staff. Penn State hasn't exactly been known for its creative use of personnel up until this point.

    Agree. I wasn't excited when he originally committed and I didn't care when he decommitted.
