Yes because a guy who has been a backup behind a kid the same age as him is a shoe-in to be drafted. People can rip on Carson all they want but he was fine last year. I really like Fortt, but dear Jesus slow your roll.

Yep, good call. They also look at production as well. And if he sits the bench behind someone else for four years he won't be shooting up those draft boards.
Fortt is a better athlete than Carson, yes. But right now Carson is a better football player and in a better psoition to get drafted. That could change, which I expect it will, after this season.

I see Fortt as an outside guy much more than an ILB. He's jacked as all heck and strong as a bull, but he is still built like an OLB. Guys like Carson have a much lower center of gravity and stout build. Whereas Fortt has long limbs and comparable athleticism to a guy like Hodges.
My guess is that Fortt takes over Hodges spot next year and winds up playing on Sundays. Carson has 2 years left correct?

I knew Gerald Hodges was always gonna be a great football player when he first got out of high school and look at him now, arguablly the best player in the BIG and one of the best linebackers in the country. Keep it up!
