    2 Everett kid committed to Duke, and Kinlaw went to ND (I understand the staff's hesitation because of his injury). And guys like Tre Bell and Nadir Barnwell are right there and getting offers from other schools... We are reaching out to the kid from Tenn... But who knows if there will be any interest there. And we only offered Averett at safety so far... We have 2 scholarship safeties on the roster... THE ENTIRE ROSTER... Just saying. In the next few weeks, we should see more visitors and offers go out to DBs... If we don't we will lose out on the elite guys and have to settle for camp guys.. OT is also a little concerning, but our current numbers there are MUCH better than CB and safety.

    I didn't know Kinlaw had an offer to PSU ... I didn't know Everett had an offer to PSU. The answer is zero.

    BACK UP OPTIONS... If Butler goes elsewhere, what happens. Heck, if Butler comes aboard, what happens? lol

    Never said they had offers. I said the back up options are falling off one by one... Pretty soon we will be down to camp guys... VERY FEW DBs outside of our traditional recruiting areas are giving us the time of day... After a few kids from NJ, there isnt much left in terms of quality DB recruits at this point. Sure some will show in camps- it happens every year. But it would be nice to have a few elite DBs sured up early, especially since it is a glaring weakness on our roster.

  • Tell AB and Hack and Douglas to get in Butler's ear. His visit to OSU was the 31st... Tell him to leave ND a day early and come back to PSU for the 31st... With all the high quality guys up, I am sure they would have an impact on his recruitment...

    So if PSU offers them and they commit, then Butler loses his spot, people complain. If they don't get offers and commit elsewhere, PSU lost out. Damned if you do, damned if you don't with some people.

  • I knew this week was missing something, I found the rmj thread where he begs for more DB offers. Life is good.

    Also, not necessarily disagreeing.

    Also, I think that there are more DB offers out than have been reported. And guys like Barnwell will get theirs when they step on campus this spring, which he is setting up.

    Could you PM me some names buddy? Barnwell is a guy that I LOVE on film... No wasted movement, hips are great and he BREAKS on the ball... I know he was working on setting something up. But PM me some of the names that you are talking about. TIA

    Hicks is supposedly naming MSU his fav, with OSU jumping into the picture if they offer. LOTS of work to do with him IMO and from stuff that Ive read... But would LOVE to have him

    No. Im saying, we could get commits from Averett and Barnwell and still have room for him. We could get commits from those 2 and Tre Bell and still have room. We are THAT thin. And we need backup options, 2 of which just commited elsewhere from lack of interest (although I can, and do, understand why the staff was waiting on Kinlaw's injury)

    Edit: And for the record, Barnwell is a legit 4 star, Averett is too, and Bell is a borderline 4 star, very long and has great breaks on the ball, and tackles very well (also a good student and a coaches kid). 3 quality guys that you can make prorgress with (although we have started with Averett- Vandy a long time ago, and he is busy with track)

    not Sean, but I highly doubt we have much of a chance at all, sounds like he gave his verbal to ND and formality is just when to announce it to the public.........seems like we have an issue they like PSU, but stil ltake visits.......once they get to ND, ND closes the deal.

    panic Its March 31. Repeat its March 31. We are ahead of our pace from last year, and have a staff that is willing and able to work up until LOI Day to land quality kids. Regardless if we lose Butler or not, this staff will continue evaluating new prospects and recruiting them where ever they may reside.

  • What I don't understand is: if the PSU visit left enough of an impression on him to name us his favorite after visiting, why wouldn't he take a return trip to, in effect, give us another chance to reaffirm being his top school?

    The frustrating part is that when kids visit ND first...they commit immediately after and don't visit us. But when we're the first visit and ND is the last...they still get kids to commit.

    Guess we have to hope they have a crappy season, which is more than possible.
