I'm not sure what revelations are in these emails. Seems like pretty much what we already knew. We knew Joe knew about 2001. They say that Curley felt they should confront Jerry prior to going to authorities after his conversation with Joe. I can see a lot of the older generation taking that stance. That doesn't surprise me at all. It doesn't say anything about Joe suggesting they should not go to authorities. Also, we are asked to believe that the three admins are speaking freely, yet there are no resentful comments made about Joe strong arming their position? If Joe was forcing anyone's hand, I can guarantee you there would be a different tone to those emails. Those emails don't paint Joe as being in charge of anything as many have claimed he was. Those emails also don't confirm that they thought what Mcqueary "saw" was rape. Quite the opposite actually. If McQueary told them what he said on the witness stand, then they had nothing more than Mike saying he heard things that sounded like Jerry was raping a kid, then that he never saw anything to confirm that when they came into view. The lack of alarm in those emails indicate to me that they thought there was something less than rape going on with Jerry.

I still struggle to understand why a football coach, AD, and Finance VP's interpretations of an eyewitness account inhibited their ability to report the case to a more capable party for investigation. None were even remotely qualified to generate such a vital opinion based off conversations with McQueary. As soon as it was classified as A) troubling to another adult and B) involving a child...isn't notifying the properly qualified authorities to conduct an investigation the proper course of action? Furthermore, why would their general response be 'hand it over to TSM' if it was an incident which occurred on their campus and witnessed by their employee? It just seems like there was a lot of 'taking matters into own hands' and 'impression management' occurring in this circle.

I agree that it should have been reported. I am also of the opinion that Joe wasn't qualifed to have any real input. I don't know what the conversation was between Curley and Joe, but I have doubts that is was Joe strong arming Tim into not going to the authorities. I imagine it went more like Joe questioning why they weren't confronting Jerry with the allegations and Tim then rethinking their coa. I also imagine that the plan changed even further after they had their discussion with Jerry. Remember the reports that Jerry actually gave them the contact info for the kid in question? What if that holds water? What do they do at that point? These are just hypotheticals that have me reserving judgement. This smells more of arrogance than coverup to me. It seems as though they felt they had it covered and that they felt their investigation of the matter was sufficient. How wrong they were. I once again refer to the tone of those emails with regard to Joe. There was no fear or great reverence that I can infer. You have surely been privy to conversations among coworkers even of differing levels in the structure after some force has been exerted by the top brass. I see none of the usual reactions in those emails like you would see in that situation, not even veiled ones. I'm not saying that these absolve Joe of any wrongdoing, but they don't implicate him either. More needs to come out b/f judgement is passed.

I can further add that I have had some business dealings with some of GS's cohorts and if he was like them(probably worse since they all wanted to swing from his nuts) I definitely see the arrogance angle as being the most likely. The aristocratic air within his social circle is stifling. Despite the wishes of some, I don't see this as a huge hit to Joe. Should more come out, then yeah, but as it is??? I also think it is a stretch that the NCAA does anything based on these emails.

Try to fathom the hypocrisy of a Government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured .but not prove they're a citizen

The other likely possibility is Tim's conversation with Joe involved him asking Joe to reiterate what Mike told him. Is it possible that Joe didn't offer any advice on the course of action, but rather just recounted his conversation with Mike? He himself said he felt he was ill-equipped to deal with it. Maybe what Mike told Joe and what he told Tim were different. Mike's story changed 4X right in front of our eyes. Would it be shocking to see it changed from Joe to Tim? Maybe Tim had his change of heart based on that. There are still a lot of potential angles with what little is known.

Maybe it is because I am exhausted I don't know but I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and understand we only have a fraction of the information. These specific emails were leaked for a reason, IMO to sway public opinion early, and we don't know if there are others emails outlining something very different.
