I was looking at the numbers a bit this morning to jog the memory.
Engram had 63 catches for 1,084 yards and 11 touchdowns in 1995. The score against Michigan State was one of the best clutch plays I've ever seen in any sport. I'd put that season up there against Robinson's, factoring in style of offense, quality of opposition, etc. But Robinson has one more game to change my mind.

Always hard to compare players from different teams and different eras, especially in a sport like football. I'll say that Robinson has made enormous strides over a short period of time and probably has more pure physical potential than any PSU receiver I've ever seen (pretty amazing how few elite athletes we've had at the position). Look at how much stronger, faster, quicker he's gotten just over the past couple years. It's entirely possible that he still has some physical maturing left to do (and I don't mean typical weight room growth). If he finds one more top end gear then he has a first round skill set.

Robinson's stats are pretty good, but he kind of disappears in the big games. Don't get me wrong. He's good, but he's no Bobby Engram. That dude was clutch, and he did it in an offense that only threw the ball 20 times a game.

Have we seen the single best season ever for a PSU WR?
