For awhile I was upset that they were trying to whitewash Joe from Penn State's memory because he deserved better. But I've come to realize that it's not Joe that is hurt by that, it's really future Penn Staters. They may never know all of the amazing things this man did for our university and community as a whole. Still hard to believe he's gone.

Happy Birthday Joe!!! We will always appreciate what you did and you will never be forgotten. My 5 and 8 year old every time they see Northwestern say to me " that's who Joe beat for 400" It is a memory they will never forget.

Thanks for the thread and reminding today is Joe's Birthday. Happy Birthday Joe! and thank you for recruiting me to Penn State. i might not have played football, but you were a big reason PSU was the only school I wanted to go too. I also wanted to share with you all our Christmas Tree. Nothing but Blue and White goes on our tree we are going to be under the tree tonight toasting Joe and the whole PSU community.

Though I never personally knew him, I did find it hard after time not to believe in him. So on this day I can safely feel that Coach Paterno was an alright guy. He was human as we all are and every sum is the addition of all it's parts. I think in general the man was well deserving of his admirable reputation as a humanitarian even with his flaws. May God help you sleep peacefully in your last resting place.

Happy Birthday Joe. As a kid I looked up to him and what he did as a football coach. As an adult I look up to him for what he did as a human being. Thank you Joe for helping me be a better person.
