Hang in there, PSU...

  • As an Alabama fan, I've had more than a little experience with NCAA sanctions! I won't lie, it sucks and considering the magnitude of today's news, it'll be much worse for y'all. However, the sun will come up tomorrow. In a few weeks, those boys will run out of the tunnel at Beaver Stadium and play their hearts out for PSU. It probably won't be pretty, but they'll stand in the gaps and fight like hell to push towards brighter days. I think about some of our players during those probation years and realize I have more pride in those guys than most others. I think you'll feel the same way. It takes a special class of person and complete love for the school for a player to willingly play during times like this, but they will and you will respect the hell out of them. You guys hang in there and know there are quite a few folks down here pulling for you! You are still Penn State and you will always be Penn State. There is nothing that the NCAA, Sandusky, Curley, etc. can ever do to change that. Keep your chin up, boys.

  • USC fan here.

Sorry PSU fans. It's bullshit and the wrong people are being punished. USC plus Penn St = 70 kids who won't get a chance to college thanks to the NZAA. If your coach can retain this recruiting class and pull in some good classes in the future, maybe the future won't be as bleak as it appears.

    Fight on.

Georgia Bulldog fan. Just wanted to stop by to agree with the above poster. I don't agree with this punishment either. NCAA=head up their @$%.

    Fight on.

  • Bama Fan here (still living in Tuscaloosa)...
You are an amazing fan base that showed your class with out H&H the past two years. It would be even more of a crime for your fan base to throw the baby out with the bath water... stay strong and place the blame in the proper place with Jerry S.

All NCAA football fans are pulling for your fans to stay strong...

NCAA football fans and the nation thinks your school is a disgrace and you're all living outside reality.
I'm glad it got brought down to you and cannot be ignored anymore.

You must feel like the cool kid in class. Congratulations, talking crap on our board right after the NCAA pummels us.

You're just another half wit who can't see beyond what the media tells you is "the truth."

I have to think the Michigan State fanbase is better than the pile of dung they've been sending over here lately.

I'm an Auburn guy and have posted a few times along the way for several months saying I wished you the best and no matter what keep your head up and always be proud of your school. Sometimes things aren't fair and innocent people suffer but all you fans have done nothing wrong. Stand together and support you school amd make it an even better place than before all this started.

By the way new-era, you have to make a choice between bama and Auburn. I know you will pull for the Tigersbiggrin

  • Auburn fan here. Completely agree with the Bama and USC fans. Keep your heads up; this too shall pass. My sister-in-law went to Penn State and I will always be a fan. You can and will rise above because You Are Penn State.

Fuck off. You're an idiot who doesn't know how to differentiate collegiate athletics from law. So you are happy that 70 kids won't get a chance to go to college? Shows just how classy you are, dirtbag.

And also since you're incompetent, Sandusky was a lone human, not a Penn St message board.

Notice how the NCAA and the entire public think Penn State is a big pile of dung for it's actions and inaction?
Keep your head in the sand as apparently people in Happy Valley are world-wide leaders in.

You've got a liberal definition of "the entire public." There's plenty of people out there who have said NCAA should not be involved here. And you claim we're the ones with heads in the sand?

The fact that you're using "NCAA and the public" as your "backup" is beyond laughable. Yeah, you're right. Everything the NCAA does is justified, right? They're the end-all be-all of moral arbitration. Along with the general public.

You sure are bringing new meaning to the question "how dumb can you be?"

Furthermore... Suppose on of your colleagues molests a kid and your boss covers it up. It gets found out and your entire company gets disbanded and you lose your job. You get no due process, none whatsoever, and you get no plea to keep your job. Would you be applauding the punishment?

No, you'd be crying injustice just like the common PSU fan is today (and rightfully so).
Take your trolling to the blue board if you actually believe the nonsense coming out of you.

USC feels for you Penn St fans. The only silver lining I can think of is that the NCAA is overstepping their bounds too much these days and they will be sued into the ground and destroyed because of it.

Best of wishes to you all. If you live and breathe football like I do, I know this is tough for you all.

You understand this was mostly a punishment for a cover-up?

They said current PSU football players will be allowed to stay in school and on scholarship at PSU or transfer to another university.

Penn State was incompetent as a university.

  • Should we start digging into every school? Maybe the rape history?

"The Coalition Against Sexual Violence condemns Lou Anna K. Simon and the MSU
administration for failing to speak out against sexual violence in our community. Michigan State University is plagued with a culture of rape. MSU and its administration implicates itself in this violence when it refuses to take action.

Students, survivors, and allies concerned about sexual violence have gathered here today to call attention to the pervasive culture of sexual violence prevalent on MSU’s campus, and to enlighten university administrators, whose inactions indicate that they are either oblivious or indifferent. Many of us are aware of the issue of rape on this campus and campuses across the country. We know that one in four women in college will be sexually assaulted. We know that over 2/3rds of rape survivors do not report their attacks. We know that even among those who do, very few will ever see their rapist convicted or punished."

Penn State was incompetent as a university.

And yet the most tangible punishments are the punishments to student athletes.

That is not right no matter what way you dice it.

How will Penn State sue when they specifically agreed with the punishments?
Penn State fans need to listen to the NCAA and what your current leaders are saying now about needing to become better ethical and moral leaders.

I think the NCAA has decided to become tough on issues, and it started with PSU. If they find problems at other universities, I think they should and need to clean it all up. If they find MSU players partook in rape, I think perhaps they need to step in and force change.
