Apparently you are such a big supporter of this staff that it has wiped your memory clean of knowledge about some really good times in PSU football or you just never knew in the first place.

FYI -- between 1978 and 1986, PSU was in 4 bowl games pitting #1 vs #2 so was playing for the national championship, and in Paterno's first 20 years he won 81% of his games. So you're delusional if you expect this staff to do *better* than that -- it would be extraordinary for them to even come close to matching it

whoa Debbie Downer. I know PSU was great in the 80s. Just so happens that in the last decade we have been by and large not elite. Joe should have retired long before he did. We will return to prominance once again, despite Sandusky. BOB has done a wonderful job. He is going to right the ship IMO. Different times entirely too. UCLA basketball didnt lose for several years back in the day. Totally different game, way more competitive, and the game has evolved. I'm looking forward. Sorry.

Edit: And to quote your current head football coach, BOB... "This is a new era of Penn State football. That has nothing to do with how we feel about the past 50 years," O'Brien said this spring at the Associated Press Sports Editors Mid-Atlantic meeting.

To potential signees, O'Brien has preached a new time of Penn State football — one that, for better or worse, will operate without connection to the previous establishment.
