HONORING JOEPA TOMORROW

  • Members of the Penn State Alumni Association , Re-Bot and other groups are asking Penn State fans to honor Joe Paterno tomorrow at the Blue and White game by placing White and Blue flowers at the foot of his statue.

Out of town people can call the local florist "Woodrings" phone numbers 1-800-627-6737 ; 1-814-238-0566 . (note: no minimum order, but $25/dozen rate - I assume this means $12.50 for six, etc.) and they will deliver them to the statue for you for free.

According to Woodrings over 100,000 flowers have already been ordered. clap

I will be hand delivering mine tomorrow and will post photos for those of you who are unable to attend.

  • Here's another idea. It would be geat if someone could get a player to call timeout with 4:09 left in the first quarter, and the stadium could stand in silence for a minute to honor our former coach.

And what is woodrings going to do with all these profits?

Seems like a fast way to make a quick buck. Heck might as well sell t-shirts too while you're at it.

What does Woodring's profit have to do with anything? They didn't start this nor are they involved in the creation of this. They are just one of the local Florist who are helping out. I'm sure there are many others who are providing the same service. I didn't order mine from them, I ordered mine from a florist close to home. Am I supposed to insist my florist makes a donation with their profit? Is the beer distributor in State College expected to make a donation from the profit for the tailgating beer sales??

Thank you, I bought in time to use last season. I only use it for tailgating so its nice to load it up at the beginning of the season and leave everything in it until the end instead of having to reload all the tailgating items every week.

  • Only for tailgating?! Hell I would drive my kids to school in that thing... maybe even live out of it! Ok, well maybe not live out of it but still lol.

Please tell me it has a Nittany Lion roar (the one they blast through the PA system at every game) for a horn!

  • Anyone going to do the Beaver Stadium 5K Sunday morning? My wife and I are, and we raised enough money to qualify for the breakfast that morning at Lubarno Park with some Paterno family members and football alumni. Of course, it's going to be cold and rainy, but we'll survive!

8 members of my family and I are "Walking" the 5K course tomorrow. Yep we'll all survive the cold rain.
