Gulla going to chase his dream

  • This is fantastic for our punting situation. Ficken certainly improved at the end of the season and I think we can say that he can handle the pressure and ups and downs of kicking. Will be nice to have someone else push him but I think this is much bigger for our punting game. Buttersworth was horrible last year. And that is being nice,

I actually thought Butterworth got pretty good at downing it inside the 20, but he struggled when trying to boot it deep to change field position or doing that god-awful rugby punt.

  • Lions desperately needed more quality depth/competition at punter and kicker, and hopefully Gulla helps provide it. If he has a decent leg, gets punts off quickly, and doesn't mindlessly bomb them into the end zone, he could be the punter next season.

    What am I, omniscient?
