Great news about Brown!! Hello Eugene Lewis

  • Was excited when we first got Brown, but after seeing him play for a few years, not so impressed. The only thing that was good about him was his size. Other than that, he didn't have the top end speed you like, and his hands were average.

Obviously Brown didn't buy into everything because he could've sucked it up one more year and gone to the NFL under OB's guidance.

Can't wait to see what Lewis brings to the table.

I would love to keep brown but am glad we will finally have someone else returning punts - he was not cut out for that job to say the least..

Amen. And to the OP, Kersey if he stays IMO could have a break out... Along with the younggins Robinson and Kenney and YES Lewis...

  • Disagree......Brown was our best WR. Everyone saying they don't care that he left has sour grapes. The loss of him AND Redd is a killer. So much inexperience on offense.

  • Remember when we had an athlete starting his first season at QB and our three wideouts were freshman? We did pretty well.

Not saying we're gonna be very good, just that we have a lot unknowns right now (Kenney,Lewis,Robinson,Lynch,Gilliam,James etc..). Just can't wait for the team to finally come together with those who are actually staying and seeing the talent we might have.

Brown was our best wr because there was no one else....he may get drafted late but does not have the speed or hands to play pro....eugene lewis will erase any memory of brown....Not sad at all that he left

Plus freaking 1. I was about to post the exact same.

+1. Exactly. The youngsters have more natural ability. Brown is solid, but not special IMO. I think time will tell. But I am betting on the young athletes than the seasoned vet with average hands and average speed. The perimeter is where kids can play early and be successful. I think Kenney, Kersey and Robinson (and maybe Lewis) will make us forget all about Brown THIS year.

Brown was our best receiver out of a very below average group of receivers. Brown dropped a lot of balls, didn't make a lot of catches he should have. I'm excited about the future. Brown didn't want to be here. No sour grapes here. I say what I feel regardless.

Maybe, but what's the worst that can happen? We will have young talent all over the field on offense. It will be exciting.

OLine is looking good, RB looking good, TE good, WR talent but young.

QB has a system that fits his skillset (and we have talent backing him up).

Cmon, it will be fun to watch these guys.

He may have been the worst punt returner i have ever seen....you need a shifty, speedy punt returner, brown was neither.....

Preach brother. People are acting like he was Redd here... He was a good receiver. Not great. We have plenty of guys that can step up here.

But that's my point. The best out of what we have. People just want to turn to the younger guys, but this year is going to be PSU's best chance at a decent season for the next few years and PSU needs the players that will be best now.

I don't disagree with that statement, but who else has done anything with the old system. Special team is nothing special. Having said that, the few times Brown touched the ball on returns I wonder why he is assigned that role, totally unimpressive. Belton would be much better. Will the new staff think we will see some upgrade.

Brown is history, move on. Young studs lets see what you got, and there are plenty of them on the team.

No sour grapes. I wish everyone of our players would have stayed but If they want to leave that is their choice and you have to respect that. Losing proven entities in Redd and Fera are big losses. But Brown is not in that category. He was the suspected front runner to be our leading receiver this year by default not by obvious on the field plays that were made. Maybe he will excel with a better QB throwing him the ball, but I could have seen Moo Moo have a more productive year than Brown.

I wish him the best, but actually make his loss out to be less than others because he was a senior and his loss does not hurt depth for the future (thinner) years. Excited to see Hixon coach the younger guys up and maybe make something out of guys like Christian Kuntz and BMF.

Kuntz shocked me in the BW game... I know its just the spring game, but I was shocked...
