  • Im in this camp.. but im usually in this camp. I think O'Brien has a chance to succeed and if he does, then it was the right hire.

Unlike the majority of the people on here, I woke up relieved and somewhat excited this morning. Im relieved that the search is over and Im excited to see what this guy brings to the table. I can only assume that we will be a better coached team than in the last 10 years. I loved Joe and still do, but he was too old for the job. It would have been nice to get a "Penn State guy" or a "home run hire", but all we really need is a "great coach". Here's to hoping that O'Brien is just that.

tell me, are you relieved that a good portion of our lettermen, AA's, say that want nothing to do with the university? Are you excited about donors openly posting they are done with Penn State football? Or how about that we now have ZERO ties to our tradition? What about the fact Obrien has been a failure at every stop?

    All VERY exciting news,,,,,

Our lettermen will come around and the donors will be there if we win. I would like to have a coach with ties to our tradition, but i'd rather have wins and most people would probably want the same.

As for how well he'll do.. thats still to be determined. I think he'll do better than Joe has done over the last decade. Again, no offense to Joe.. I really do love the guy, but he should have been gone a while ago. O'Brien has not been a filure at every stop. If he was, he wouldnt be the Pats OC.

Everyone on the boards and twitter is going crazy.. but thats just what these people do.

Just because you believe something, doesn't make it a fact. He didn't become the OC for the Patriots by being a failure. It's ok to stop being a PSU fan now.
