  • You guys are going through the rumor mill of coaching searches right now and I figured you could use some words from a non blue and white glasses wearing individual.

Your fan base packs the biggest stadium in college football when you play Youngstown state. Your academics are at the top of BCS schools. Unlimited resources and a great campus. NFL style facilities. So no matter who you hire, your school will sell itself to recruits.

You just need an energetic coach who is good with media relations and marketing. Someone with a desire to win and the organization to do it. Im not bashing Joe Pa(I thought admin handled his firing horribly) when I say that he did as little as a head coach could with recruiting. No in homes in the last decade from him or Hall is terrible. What one or two years of exciting football the last decade as far as offense goes. You will see that no matter who you hire, whether it is a college guy, a small college guy, NFL guy, High school guy, your team will still prevail. You are too big not to.

However if Dave Wannstadt is anywhere near your coaching search, run very fast in the other direction.

    Good luck fellas.

Unless this was all tongue in cheek, I think it's the opposite of trolling...

I feel exactly the same way. Penn State will keep on moving, and we will someday soon be better than what we were. Thanks for the support.

  • While it has been a few years for sure, where did you get Paterno did no in homes in past decade? That would be false. Still, appreciate the post.

My fault about the assumptions on the decade. And I am very serious when I say everything I said.

Who was the last in home visit you can remember? DWill's class? 7ish years ago?

Not quite... he met prior at a basketball game I believe... not really an in-home visit.

He also visited Still and Moye.
