I agree 100% ... We are struggling to find ways to get to just 15 recruits this year.
At this point we won't be able to offer him till later, in my opinion.
It's not indicative of his play or PSU's lack of interest. To think PSU is not recruiting this kid because of Jamil Pollard is absurd.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.

Seriously about Pollard. My guess is that Pollard watched from afar with regret every Saturday last fall about what he was missing out on.
As for Owens, mom dukes might want to research our situation. A hybrid back who might even be better suited for DL isn't a chance we can take nor a luxury we can afford these days.

You do realize that she is a family member, correct? Likely his Mom? I'm sure she has put plenty of research into our situation. It's been reported elsewhere that Gerald and his family really like Penn State, he's highly sought after as a RB, and they very much want him to receive an offer from PSU. Nothing wrong with that at all, IMO.

I didn't down vote you, fwiw. I simply thought that your sentence re Owens ("As for Owens, mom dukes might want to research our situation. Recruits and their parents and families frequent these boards. When they disclose who they are, seems best to treat them with kindness. Gerald is, by all accounts, a great kid and a great athlete. Sucks that our current situation doesn't make him a slam-dunk for an offer right now, but would love to have him as part of the PSU family if at some point it makes sense.

Maybe if he is able to enroll early he could find an offer easier to come by. Anyone know if that's a possibility with him?
