From what I am hearing about O'Brien

I have multiple sources. Trust me, this is starting to get scary. PSU can't afford to lose BOB this year. They need to keep him.

Claims like this are reasons why I left BWI. Im sorry, im not a jerk to people, but validate your info or don't post any info at all. No offense, but this all seems way to speculative.

Sean Fitz's sources think he's gonna saty..........Miller's sources think he's getting ready to leave...

I've learned from the very recent past not to take any "insider" or "sources" very seriously.

All we can do is wait and see, no one knows what BOB's thinking even if they claim to do.

That's not what Miller actually said...

I would take almost anyone over Reid, but definitely BOB.

I know I'm gonna take some heat for this, but I disagree. I know BOB made McGloin look pretty damn good, but don't forget that Andy made Koy Detmer, AJ Feeley and Kevin Kolb look good in the NFL.

I'm just glad we didn't have any leaders like, Joyner & Erickson in Nam.

I'm really not sure where the Joyner bashing has come from...

A few posters seem to insinuate that him and OB are banging heads, but otherwise I'm not sure where it comes from. The man hired OB; he found the coach we are all nervous about losing....

My money is on Mr. Fitz. By far the most VIP bang for your buck.

true but his info was two days ago, things could have changed in negotiations....very fluid

  • I despise the eagles and reid but how anyone can say with a straight face that bob has proven to be a better offensive coach is out of their minds. 5 nfc title games against 1 year of bob in college and calling plays for a few years in new England? even my goggles aren't that blue.

In a few years maybe an argument. and i am very pro bob

Good to see a number of us Broncos fans on here. With that said I would never cheer for the Broncos again if the took BO'B.

I might take some heat also but I think Reid is one of the most overrated coaches I've seen in my 30+ years of watching football. His QB's look good because they throw more than any team in the league

  • At a minimum, we need BOB for one more year. No way we make it through next year. After next year, the studs from the next class are on board, Freeh Agency is over, and recruits will get multiple bowl games. He leaves, our current roster leaves, no Hackenburg. Disasterous.

I don't agree at all. If BOB were to increase his own aggressiveness for an NFL gig, I think he'd get one. The destination is irrelevant. PSUs situation if he were to leave would be extremely difficult, and therefore, BOB has the leverage. I'm not one who believes the buyout is insurmountable, bc I think he'd have a case for nullification considering the change in conditions after signing the contract. In the end, I don't believe BOB wants to leave yet, but he wants a l

I'm by no means an expert in contract law however I'm having a hard time seeing how BOB's contract would be nullified considering the extension was based on PSU receiving sanctions by the NCAA. Kinda hard to argue that BOB never anticipated the sanctions after he amended his contract to say if PSU receives sanctions BOB would get an extension. It would also be pretty easy for PSU to argue that it was reasonable to anticipate no sanctions based on the unprecedented actions taken by the NCAA. Very few legal experts expected the NCAA to act and still argue that they were outside of their jurisdiction.

I am not ready to say that O'Brien is out the door. However, I do not like the fact he is going to start talking to NFL teams. This could all be about him trying to get more out of PSU. However, I know his agent is talking and setting things up. Last week, I thought it was a 98% chance that O'Brien was back at PSU next year. Right now, I think it is more like 70%. Stating that, this is a super crazy business and things can change in an hour or two.

Not from me. I have wanted him gone for 10 years.

  • It's really sad that somebody or a group of people have soured BOB's desire to be in State College so much already that we are being put through the ringer again of coaching uncertainty with the possibility of him leaving. BOB leaving would be absolutely catastrophic to this program and I hope it doesn't happen.

I'm not an expert either, but I'm not sure what "expectations for the future" have to do with the black and white of contracts. Is that even consequential? It's tough for me to imagine that sanctions of this magnitude couldn't potentially alter the out clauses of a contract. That's my pragmatic side talking...the actual legal consideration may be completely opposite.

No, but provide a foundation or a link. At least state if its first hand knowledge or not. Own what you say, don't dance around it, if you're wrong, oh well get em next time. But the fact that he's not saying how he heard of it shows me that there's little to no backing/confidence in the info that was relayed to him.

We live in a digital age, and the era of news leaks. Chances are that ESPN or Fitz would have reported on info that's this significant from the get go.

Not hating, bring all the info you have, but either own it or validate it with how you got the info.....
