Franklin hoping for PSU offer

I don't understand the thought that we are suddenly recruiting "small, athletic LB's". I wouldn't consider Bell/Walton small and athletic at 6'0 ~ 230 as high school seniors

I wasn't dissing the idea, it was more of an observation. Traditionally, I feel like we've recruited bigger LB's in the past. Now we are going for smaller, quicker LB's. Nothing wrong with it as long as it fits our system.

I wouldn't characterize 6'2" as smaller. And the LB's on our roster were all from the previous staff (though I think Wartman is a good enough LB for either staff). Maybe the heights are off, but I wouldn't assume so. I can think of two LB's off the top of my head that the staff said "no" to because of height - the senior kid (George someone?) who visited for the Wisconsin game and John Kenny.
I just know that Sean specifically said before the staff wanted to make sure our LB's were tall enough.

I think he was referring to their weight. Most of the guys we are offering seem to be in the 215-220 lb range. That is smaller than our usual 230-235 lb range for LB. Reeder seems to be the one exception already at 230.

Well, looked very jumpy through 247, but found him on Hudl and the film was fine. Solid film, nothing spectacular, worth tracking.

Would you like to know how many of our stud linebacker from the last decade were in the 230-235 range while they were high school recruits?

I didn't say that I had an issue with their weights as we are mainly talking HS juniors right now. I don't have an issue with their weight even if they stayed in the 220-230 range as long as they maintain their speed and are sure tacklers. I was replying to another's post that we seem to be going after "smaller LB's".

No problem. Any LB recruit who is legitimately 6'1-6'2 and 210+ is plenty big and shouldn't have any problem playing in the 230-240 range in college.
