I feel like that is a majority of people who don't root for fresno state lol

No, I think the majority of true college football fans know this about Fresno. College football fans know alot outside their own team and actually watch other games. TV analysts have been hammering this home about Pat Hill's teams for years.

  • Neb is good, but not unbeatable at this point in time. The QB situation should be resolved now as Rob finally looked like wanted to compete and that is what was missing IMO. He still makes bad decisions and forces the ball, but he needs all the snaps between now and Iowa IMO. I think it's fair to say he played better against the best team on the schedule and hopefully he grows from that game. There isn't a secondary around he will face like that on the rest of the schedule, not one. OSU may be good back there, but Bama is at a whole different level in terms of speed and scheme.

Agreed. Some bad throws, but it wasn't a debacle. Most of his bad throws are still uncatchable by the opponent. Not sure if people have noticed that. The one almost INT was Moye's fault for not catching it above his head. It was actually well thrown because there was a defender between them and he had to go over. You expect your 6'5 all big ten dude to catch that.

But even on the slants that went nowhere, he threw those into the ground or to a place the defender couldn't get it since the receiver was covered. That's not mentioned but I noticed that on the last drive. Two slants that had no chance of working, so he threw it away basically since it was a timing route and pockets were collapsing.

But anyway, I expect more bad throws and bad decisions. But even Blackledge said he looked much different with composure this year. He needs to feel that he can go out there, throw an INT, but still go out on the next drive. Otherwise he will play timid with the ball in his hands and he'll never take the next step.

  • Regarding Bolden's INT:

Anyone who has DVR, go back and watch the route by Moye. I know it wasn't a good throw, but when I watched it on replay, it looked to me that Moye made the double move, and his first step was actually more inside to the area Bolden threw the ball, but then he changed it more outside once he saw the safety coming over. He stutter stepped, then began running again with a step or two inside, but then turned it back outside. I'm curious if it was designed to go back inside but Moye actually changed the route slightly because of the safety already being there???

You are missing ALOT dude. Pat Hill has the "I will play anyone anywhere attitude" If you didn't know this, you are living under a rock.

    2004 - upset #13 Kansas State in Manhattan 45-21
    2005 - lost to #1 USC 50-42 in LA in a classic
    2008 - lost 47-45 in OT at #13 Texas A&M
    2009 - lost to Wisconsin 13-10 lost at #13 Cincinnati 28-20

I could put more down. Only a fool who doesn't know anything about Fresno State has your attitude. No one called them a top 25 team. Who is calling Nebraska the preseason BIG champ? Not me, I think they lose to Wisconsin in the title game. You are missing alot. Any TV personality on TV that knows college football would think you don't know Fresno at all; are living under a rock, or are a fool.

    You forgot 2011 - lost to #10 Nebraska 41-29.

With all that "success" losing to ranked teams I guess in your mind Pat Hill would be a great successor to Joe Paterno. At the end of the day, good teams find a way to win close games.

    Did I say K.State finished 4-7 in 2004?

    Cheers!

Yes, I said K-State numbnuts. The year before, they beat the living h*ll out of OU in the Big 12 title game and Nebraska; lost to a pretty good Texas team in Austin. They were supposed to be pretty significant the following year. K-State was 13th when Fresno State went in and beat them.

Hill wouldn't be any different than Paterno right now, when you consider the legend's record against ranked teams over the last decade. No one is saying Pat Hill should be the successor. At least he plays a decent out of conference schedule and will travel to do it.

Actually, he'd probably do better than Joe. At least his physically overmatched teams put up a fight. This is from Ron Cook:

"It's not just the 27-11 licking that No. 3 Alabama put on the Nittany Lions before a white-out crowd of 107,846 Saturday. It's that Penn State is 1-13 against Top 5 opponents since its 12-0 season in 1994. It was outscored, on average, in those 13 losses, 30-12. Only three times was it within a touchdown at the end."

Hey, agree with you. His teams always fight and fight hard despite being overmatched. I have watched his teams play for the last five years and despite this, they always seem to stay in games longer than they should.

  • Fresno State is certainly not afraid of playing anyone, and they usually perform pretty well. That being said, their performances reminds me of Toledo's most recent game against OSU. Did they do well? Yes. Does that command national respect? Not sure I'd agree with that, considering that was really Toledo's biggest game of the year and OSU seemingly overlooked them.

While looking decent, I just don't see Fresno State as being like Boise State. I think BSU could do well in most any conference, as they've proven themselves time and time again. Fresno State has provided some very entertaining games and done decently for themselves, but haven't shown themselves to be all that good, IMO.

  • McGloin throws a good short ball and gets it out quickly. Those are the things he is talented at. But he has no arm strength. If Bama had any repect for him going down the field on WR double moves, the quick slants would have been way more sucessful and their would be more room for the underneith stuff. But like I said, the book on McGloin is out, and even if he is better than he was last year as a player, I doubt he could have as much success.
