First possession of the year......

I still think the best first play of the year would be a flea flicker. Nobody will be expecting it and everyone will bite on the run.

For once, I sort of agree with you. However, if we dont show the flea flicker the 1st play of the season (since it will be against garbage teams), then maybe save it for UVA. As long as we run the ball consistently and maybe on the first play of the first game, then we could run the flea flicker 1st play of the UVA game. If we show we can run and our QBs still suck, they will prob. be bringing in tons of guys in the box anyways at the beginning to make McGloin or Jones try to beat them in the air.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

I thought you didn't want to use it against a garbage team though?

Yeah, I thought about that. I was thinking of saving it for Navy, since I am more worried about them, though we better not have problem going through the air against them anyways.

UVA has actually become a somewhat decent team under Mike London so far. I'm just used to laughing at them because one of my very good friends is a Hokie. CFB saturdays involve us and maybe another friend or two hanging out with games on the TV, as well as three or four laptops up with other games from noon until after midnight, and I've learned to laugh at UVA over the past few years.

And never look past the service academies. They're scrappy, disciplined schools. And since moving to Maryland, I've adopted Navy as my second team.

Speaking of Tech, and this might warrant a new thread, I think they'd be a great fit for the Big Ten. With the ACC basically telling its schools that basketball will always get special treatment after screwing them over with third tier TV rights, and with VT starting the process of trying to get into the AAU a few months ago, this might actually be in the realm of reality. Beamer runs his program the right way, I've always held them in high regard, and after JoePa's firing he said that winning the Joe Paterno trophy is the award he's most proud of winning, I think that program would fit right in with us.
