Do we come out in the gun? Under Center? I, 5 WR's, 2 TE? Empty backfield?
Is there a huddle after the first play or are we right back up to the LOS?
My guess 2 TE set and Gilliam down the middle for 15-20 yards...no huddle...here comes Mr. Redd on the next play. Put your foot on the gas and see how fast you can go from there. Zordich caps the drive with a FB Dive for first TD.

I think he will run it some times throughout the year, but I do wonder how much Zordich will be involved. He is a pretty good FB, but I just don't know how much PSU will be in the I or how he will be used. I don't know if BOB said none of the plays during the BW game will be in the playbook, but he either said that or next to none IIRC. I'm just curious as to what this offense will look like.

Eh, I dunno. Bradley did that, which I thought was a nice gesture. I don't think BOB will go that route.

Regardless of how much time Zordich sees on O, he will be a special teams MONSTER and I think he'll get a shot at FB at the next level. Maybe not drafted, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't around the league for atleast a few years.

I think Zordich will be involved in the offense simply because BOB has said he will tailor the offense to the talent that we have on the roster, and Zordich is one of our more talent players, albeit at a position that is fading away.
That's not to say BOB doesn't prefer to run an up-tempo attack with multiple receiver sets, but the talent on the roster was recruited for the old PSU power-running offense, so I think BOB will play to the strengths of the offense this year -- lots of Redd, Zordich, Belton, and Brown, with passes to the TEs mixed in for good measure to keep things unpredictable.

That style of FB may be fading away, but the position itself isn't, it's just evolving.
Look at my Oakland Raiders with Marcel Reece for an example. While still a big boy who can block, he's also got great speed to pose a threat in the passing game.

True, but I consider that new breed of fullbacks that have specific roles in the passing game to be closer to h-backs. The old blocking fullback in the mold of Dan Kreider is practically gone from the NFL.

I asked OB during a live chat/live radio session on The Goon Show a couple weeks ago if he would run the FB dive the first play. He laughed and said he cant promise he will run the FB dive on the first play.

Considering BOB's offense is based on efficiency and getting his QBs into a rhythm, I say a quick 3-4 yard out route or underneath curl, followed by another quick throw, and then a draw. Also, to add to Zordich's usage, OB used Heath Evans and several fullbacks in goal-line and red zone offense packages. I think he knows his personnel, and that he'll use Zordich well. I think the offense will be more balanced than people are thinking it will be. Again, we threw the ball a lot the past couple of years, the amount we threw the ball was not the problem, it was how creative we were throwing the ball. I think the way we throw the ball will improve drastically under OB, and I think this will help put Redd into a better position in the running game.

I still think the best first play of the year would be a flea flicker. Nobody will be expecting it and everyone will bite on the run.
