  • another lack-luster ooc schedule for the big ten, which i assume, reflects the ooc schedule for other conferences too. just disappointing, when i grew up watching college football in the 90s, the month of september seemed a lot more exciting. they should make it a requirement to schedule 2 BCS conference teams in your OOC schedule in order to be eligible for a BCS bowl..

  • tO$U is playing 50 games this year?

  • "* Navy at Penn State, 3:30 p.m. (ABC) -- Penn State leads the all-time series with Navy 18-17-2, although they have not met since 1974 at State College (Navy 7-6 win … that sounds like a real humdinger)."

I don't see what's wrong about that comment.

In regards to the rest of the thread, I don't agree that the OOC schedule is lackluster. There are some solid OOC matchups, including some intriguing games:

    Boise State @ Michigan State
    Michigan @ Alabama (in Dallas)
    Penn State @ Virginia
    California @ Ohio State
...and then the usual Notre Dame matchups, which have been very compelling in recent years.

Lastly, I don't get why this thread has so many downvotes. Maybe a collective midol would help?

We need to get back into the Kickoff Classic. We used to play in that frequently - mostly against USC.

Syracuse & USC are in that game this year. If the schools can claim that as a 'road' game, while retaining their home schedule seems like lots of upside.

Would be good to schedule someone like VaTech, Alabama, USCe or USCw, UNC, Clemson, UGA, FSU, etc.

A home at home with Tennessee would be very good.

I don't, nor should Penn State fans. A stronger Michigan is good for the conference. We don't play them this year, but if we did, we would want them to be highly ranked...which would obviously give us a boost if we won. I almost always root for the Big 10 in non-conference games.

  • The 50 best games in the Big Ten!!! LOL...50 games accounts for more than 1/3 of the total games. What a sweet list to be apart of.

for example, in 1995, big ten teams played 9 ooc opponents who were ranked, 4 in the first week of the season.. i'm not saying the big ten is the only conference scheduling weak teams, it's just disappointing that there aren't more big time match-ups in september anymore...

I think the thread has a lot of downvotes because in the past people have seen Steve as mainly a shill for OSU.

I'm fairly curious as to who he see's us losing 5 games in the B1G to as he has us going 3-5 in his previous article...
