  • Richard Gardner INT vs. Nebraska in '02. I thought the Beav was going to crumble that night.

I'll go with this one as well.

Second would be Mark Rubin forcing the fumble.

  • This one is up there (unfortunately, I couldn't find any video):

1989 Holiday Bowl: BYU quarterback Ty Detmer was marching the Cougars toward a game-winning touchdown in the closing seconds when he had the ball stripped by Penn State's Gary Brown, who returned it 53 yards for a touchdown to seal the Nittany Lion's victory.

--it was an incredible play...if I remember correctly, Brown grabbed Detmer from behind, reached around Detmer and wrestled the ball away, and then was off to the races...(although, the defense giving up 576 yards passing to Detmer wouldn't make the highlight reel).

  • Outback bowl against Tennessee 2007 - Navarro Bowman recovers a fumble and rumbles 90 yards for the score as Tennessee was going in to take the lead.

    Do you mean Tony Davis?

  • 1) The entire 1987 Fiesta Bowl. One of the greatest defensive efforts in college football history, against one of the most talented offenses in college football history.

    2) Rich Gardner's pick six in 2002 against Nebraska. The loudest single moment in the history of Beaver Stadium.

    3) Tamba Hali's performance against Wisconsin in 2005. That game solidified his place as a first round draft pick.

  • The plays mentioned already were some of the very greatest. For an unheralded one: Chris Mazyck's INT for a TD vs. Ohio State in 1994. We were crushing them, and the place just erupted. But more memorable to me was the post game presser. Joe talked about how far Chris had come from surviving a gunshot wound a couple of years earlier. But in typical Joe fashion, he then mentioned that he was prouder that Chris had gotten his degree. He wasn't always sure that would happen after the shooting. You could feel how much Joe cared about him. That's why it is always one of my favorite plays and memories.

  • 1. Tamba Hali sacking Troy Smith to seal the deal on the upset over OSU in 2005
    2. LaVar Leap
    3. Richard Gardner Pick 6 vs. Nebraska in 2002...chills just thinking about that game and how loud it was in Beaver Stadium
    4. Mark Rubin fumble of Terrelle Pryor in Columbus in 2008
    5. Poz's pounce vs. Minnesota at the goaline in 2005.

  • 1. Interception - Giftopoulis; 1987 Come on, Man - Gotta be #1: Good guys vs Bad Guys - "4th Down, National Championship ...."

    2. Tamba Hali sacks Smith - 2005 (Awesome play; Great pics; We're BACK!)

    3. Shane Conlan interception of Testeverde returned to the 5. 1987 (Gave us a shot to win that our offense couldn't),

    4. Gardner Pick 6 - Nebraska 2002 (Revenge for 1994 polls)

    5. Rubin causes Pryor fumble 2008 (Pryor, bwahahahah....)

    6. Zemaitis sacks and strips Henne - returns for TD - 2005; Would have been an all-time memorable play but for the fireworks at the end (first Robinson, then Manningham). I loved that play - especially because it was the only time we ever really "got back at Henne" despite 4 years of talking about doing so.

    7. Moye strip in the end zone following an interception by MSU as we were coming back in 2010. Just part of an incredible few minute sequence for Moye at that point and highlighted JoePa's point - "Hustle and good things will happen."

    2005 - All-time most fun year overall. Defense was huge and so was O (Dwill Northwestern, Minn, and OSU; MRob Mich and Minn all rank among my to 20 plays on offense);

  • Who was the fat defensive tackle that scored on a scope-score fumble and did a flip into the end-zone only to be ripped apart by Joe?

In 2006 against Northwestern Jay Alford rumbled in for a TD (and summersault) but the fumble was reversed after instant replay.

  • Alan Z, taking the ball from Chad Henne and then running in for the TD in our comeback against Michigan in 05... Even though we lost that game, that play was still AWESOME!!!!

Maybe not my all-time favorite, but that was a wild play to seal a wild game. I was going to mention it until I saw you post it.
