Fans of what pro teams

  • MLB: Braves, David Justice was my dude back in the day.
NFL: Grew up in Iowa so never really had a team. Just moved to Scottsdale, so maybe I'll adopt the Cardinals.
NBA: Bulls, also want the Warriors to do well cause the 06 team was awesome. Too bad the franchise is so terrible.
NHL: Capitals, went to my frist NHL game in 07 over spring break with my friend from PSU. Ovi scored the winner in a shootout, hooked ever since that game.

  • MLB: New York Yankees

NFL: Super Bowl Champions NY Giants
    NBA: Don't know, don't care.

Interesting. 1st cousin? Whats your take on Mike and the HOF? I am sure you are bias but interesting to know.

Yes 1st cousin. Personally I'd like to see him in the HOF. However, if you look at some of the dominant pitchers already in the Hall, he never had the 20 win seasons, a high number of K's, and never won any harware. Mike's win % was decent and he had a nice string of 10+ win seasons because he never had any injuries until late in his career. As much as I'd like to see it happen, I just don't think Mike makes the HOF.

Mike actually had a scholarship offer from JVP to be the placekicker at PSU. His 60+ yard FGs in summer camps got Joe's attention, but his love for baseball took him to Stanford.

  • NFL..Steelers..hands down..love the tradition, organizational philosophies and way the team personifies the city and area of the fan base. There is no fanbase that travels like Steeler Nation..Ironic that I hate the Ravens with a passion, tho have a respect for them at same time, cuz they play the same style of football...

MLB.. Pirates, Red Sox and O's.....Buccos are close to heart and always be favorite inspite of the double decade dose of futility...Red Sox cause they USED to be the anti-Yankees, unfortunately, they've become the Yankees and it breaks my heart. Valentine is not the answer. Orioles goes back to Earl Weaver, days and mid late 90s when Mussina and Eddie Murray played

CBB Duke....In a few words tradition and Coach K. They do things the right way. Sound familiar

NBA...Sixers and Spurs...Huge Dr. J, Doug Collins, Bobby Jones and Barkley fan..Spurs.See Duke..Coach Pop, from the Admiral, to Duncan and Parker...Hoops has lost its lustre because it's become an "I" league instead of a "We" league. Growing up loved the Sonics. My friends and I all had alter egos from that era...I was Jack Sikma...growing up they used to call me the White Shadow..you can all figure it out...

NHL The Pens and Red Wings....Not a huge fan of sport, but interest really ratches up this time of year

    Soccer...there are teams?

NASCAR...If I had to pick one...my last name is Gordon, so....other than that, whoever turns right once in a while

  • good to see a few Broncos fans on here. I thought i was the only one in PA! haha but watching elway and davis in the mid 90's was awesome. I'll always remember that green bay super bowl and elways helicopter play. btw Demaryius is gonna do big things this year!!

Everything else is philly though for me.

Thanks, my wife is from KC and I've been there multiple times, great city.

  • Seattle Mariners: Probably the first or one of the early teams I ever followed in the mid to late 90s. KGJ.
Seattle Seahawks - I love Seattle and they were a loveable underachieving team at the time. Super Bowl XL loss hurt especially since a good friend is a Steeler fan. Kind of torn right now because I want them to do well, but I despise Pete Carroll.
Pittsburgh Penguins - Loved watching Mario and Jagr. I don't follow them as much in recent years. Seeing them play against the Ducks in Anaheim was a highlight though. "Let's go Pens" echoed through the arena drowning out Duck fans.
Los Angeles Lakers - I was more of a Shaq fan and converted to a Laker fan when they acquired him in the trade. I want to see Bryant get a sixth ring if he ever gets the opportunity.

Besides PSU, I root for UCLA to do well in a city that filled with bandwagon USC fans. With them coming off their bowl suspension, I'm sure I'll be seeing more USC apparel worn around town again.

  • Only pro team i really follow closely are the Detroit Lions.. Other than that

    NHL: Red Wings
    MLB: Cardinals, Yankees, and Orioles
NBA: Could care less about that sport

    BaltLions24

  • NFL: Dallas Cowboys
MLB: New York Yankees (born in the Bronx, so much history, best franchise in the league)
NBA: Philadelphia 76ers (First game I saw as a kid was Iverson killing the Knicks. Loved the Sixers ever since.
NHL: Rangers but don't really follow hockey much.

Love boxing and Miguel Cotto is my favorite boxer out there. (Don't think he's the best, but he's my favorite).

  • NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers. Father indoctrinated me at such a young age, I wouldn't be able to switch even if I wanted to. And why would I want to switch from the greatest organization (and often team) in the NFL anyway?
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins. Never was really into hockey (grew up in the sticks, in central PA) until college, when had an EE lab with a big Pens fan. Love it now -- Though I'm not loving this series.
MLB: Though I was a huge Baseball (and Pittsburgh Pirates) fan when I was a kid, I don't follow it much anymore. Still a fan of the Pirates though, as little as I care about baseball.
NBA: For as much as I care about the NBA, which is very very little (way less even than baseball), I'm a SA Spurs fan. Long story.

The reason is simple, these teams were ingrained in me since I was in the womb.

  • MLB: Yankees (grew up 19 miles from Yankee Stadium, and basically had to pass it on the way to Shea, so why keep going?)
NFL: Jets (most of my elementary and Jr high classmates were Giants fan, so I looked for an underdog.) Anyone have any good foot jokes?
NBA: Nets. Don't follow as much anymore, but I did a summer internship with the Nets while in college.
NHL: Islanders, but don't really pay attention to hockey any more.

NFL: Denver Broncos - I got attached to their old uniforms that were pale orange and blue. Plus I like the big D on their helmets with the Bronco jumping out of it. Also, I was a big fan of John Elway and Terrell Davis. Been a fan ever since.

NHL: Philadelphia Flyers - born and raised in south central PA, I'm a Philly fan for all sports teams EXCEPT the Iggles.

    MLB: Philadelphia Phillies

    NBA: Philadelphia 76ers

Josh where at in South Central PA are you from?

    beaglespackers

  • NFL: Packers (look at my login name)

  • NFL: Steeler
NHL: Penguins (not a big hockey fan at all)
    MLB: Pirates

I assume that was directed to me, although there was no quote. And yes it does. The NBA has made a mockery of the game of basketball and is a low quality product. I'll watch cars race at 200 mph all day inches within sending one another through the air. But, sports are all about the consumer, everyone has different tastes.
