Please reread my post. I said that if PSU challenges this ruling tomorrow in court that it would look, from a PR standpoint, like PSU, as an institution, is uncooperative and unwilling to accept any responsibililty for what happend. I said nothing about PSU's response up until this point.

I don't disagree with your comments about inconsistency. I went through my own frustrations last year with OSU's problems. If you based our case off precedent we shouldn't have received anything more than probation. And let's not even mention how blatantly the SEC flaunts the rules. It's incredibly inconsistent.
What I was simply saying is that PSU has zero political capital right now. It would honestly be better if someone other than PSU challenged the ruling. In an ideal world that would be the B10, but I think we both know that's not going to happen. Two wrongs don't make a right, but no one is going to listen to that argument coming from anyone associated with PSU right now.

And even then? 15 scholarships over 3 years or some crap... NCAA violations carry no real weight. This is a joke. There was a cover up of actual NCAA violations and you got a 1 year bowl ban... They wanted to send a message and should not have, and ended up looking weak. I thought you guys shouldnt have even got that. The NCAA is a POS. I really hope that we appeal this crap.

How is that culture different from any major college football town? Any different in Alabama? Or anywhere in the south? How about in Texas, where football is a religion? You think that this is going to change that culture anywhere in America? You think that ND isnt going to gross close to 60 million dollars next year? This culture is everywhere in this country. Not just here. I expect nothing to change. All you are doing is punishing the very vehicle that can influence positive change. Football can be used to raise money and heal. Instead, you are taking money away, while the same culture runs rabid everywhere else. And if the football program is shut down for 3 years? What happens on the 4th year? Beaver stadium is packed... What changed? What positive impact did your extra punishment on top of Cleary Act violations/ loss of federal funding, civil damages for the survivors do? What at all?

Yes, the university will not appeal. Does not mean unaffected parties won't do what is right and sit idly by while Emmert and the NCAA abuse their own guidelines and power.
There are multiple constitutional advocacy legal groups that will be more than willing to show the NCAA that they cannot so callously disregard state and federal laws.

Frankly, said constitutional advocacy groups shouldn't give a shit about protecting the well-being of an athletic department in this case.
The fact of life is that unrelated individuals are affected by the crimes of others all the time. When we bomb some country, innocent civilians perish. When a guy goes away for dealing drugs, the court doesn't make sure his family of five is able to eat three meals per day or have a roof to sleep under. People who had nothing to with it are affected. It's not fair, but you people aren't the first to suffer this "injustice" and you won't be the last. It's called collateral damage and it's been around since pretty much forever.

I don't disagree with your comments about the culture at other schools. This could have easily happend at other schools, but (and this is a huge pill that a lot of PSU folks don't seemt o want to swallow right now) it didn't happen at other schools. It happend at PSU. And because it happend at PSU, the consequences are going to come to PSU.
No where in any of my posts have I stated what good or bad will come of the things Emmert is going to put into play tomorrow. The truth is we can only speculate at this time what it is. I'm not making any claim to the point. My intention was to explain how the topic is being viewed from outside PSU circles.
I'm sorry this happened.
Good luck tomorrow. I'm heading off to bed.
