  • Gress has a while to go in regards to adding weight still.

I guess I should warn you, if I turn out to be particularly clear, you've probably misunderstood what I've said.

He has a little bit to go... But he's listed at 6'6, 290... Not too bad for what will be a RS sophomore next year... He could add another 20 lbs, and get up to 310- a good bulk for a 6'6 kid- but he has made some progress in terms of adding weight. Ricketts is 270 and still has a long way to go... Big difference IMO

I love the additions of him, Nowicki, and Mangiro...3 guys that seem physically ready to play right away unlike Ricketts, Gress, Dieffenbach, Graham, etc. I'm not saying all of those guys won't pan out but Nowicki, Mangiro, and Smith all three look much more impressive physically coming out of high school than the above guys listed. Mangiro, Smith, and Nowicki look like they can flat out move people.

Well thats the thing, The only thing, particularly Nowicki and Smith, that these guys need to really focus on is trimming into muscle. The problem with recruiting kids in the 270 range is you risk the chance that they can't gain weight easily leaving massive talent at no use because they are physically unable to compete with teammates.

    For shi'ites and giggles...

OT Q. Barham (Sr.) C. Okoli (Sr.) M. Farrell (Jr.) N. Cadogan (So.) - TE? E. Shrive (So.) A. Mateas (rFr.) - OG? T. Ricketts (rFr.) R. Nowicki (Fr.) D. Smith (Fr.)

Looks like Shrive and Ricketts better establish themselves this year or Smith will be looking to bypass...

looking at that list do we need three OT's this class? That seemed to be the general consensus that we could take the 3 PA OT's but maybe we just take the first 2 OT's to verbal? shrug

haha we shall see... I think they will use him as the playmaking slot role... But I hope you prove me wrong. Lord knows that we need playmakers in the secondary

I don't know if we how we would use a playmaker in the secondary ... it didn't work out with King or Wallace.

Our current corners seem to be pretty darn good, and when we get an athletic safety they become linebackers.

If winning was easy even losers would do it.
