Did Laschout.org pass away with JoePa?

  • There hasn't been one article or column since JoePa passed away. Is the site going to shut down again? Did they lose all their sources from the previous regime or what? I miss the opinions and insight.

  • I think the bottom of the ninth grand slam comment did them in. Even though it may eventually turn out that way with the BOB hiring. It was just that many people were then expecting Saban Miles or Petersen.

I think we will be back up and writing soon. We have never wanted to report bs just to post articles. We still. Have some good sources and new sources. See my comment about first committ in earlier post.

  • Hopefully. 90% of what those guys had to offer was bashing/complaining about the program, coaches, and players. They have nothing to b!tch about so they have nothing to add. At least for now, but I'm sure they'll find something eventually.

I can't say I agree with that assessment. They had a number of breaking news type articles with some good insight. Certainly there was some commentary regarding the coaching search and BOC bungling but I believe most of us were on board with that line of thinking.

Well I guess you never actually read anything because info was pretty solid and opinion pieces were exactly that. Yes none of us drink koolaide of the former staff like you may have. but many of us are and we're friends with them and shared with them are disagreement with things in the program. Our cb situation and qb situation is all you need to know of the former staff to understand our issues.

  • I see that you Trock are one of the Lashout guys, are there any others who post here? Thanks in advance.

PSULIONS17 is one. Not sure if Driver is another. Probably a couple others.

Yes there are a few in this site including 17 and others and a few on the other sites as well.

    Trock56

  • Trock, whenever you're back I'll be there. I've enjoyed the vast majority of information at both iterations of laschout and the contributions that individuals have brought to this and other boards. clap

  • I am pretty sure this guy is a member as well.

I will also disagree with those that complain about the Laschout crew. They were pretty harsh to the old regime, yes, but they've been very positive about Penn State football since O'Brien was hired.

May not have always disagreed with their tact, but they knew that the program was not operating anywhere near capacity, and at the end of the day, just wanted to see it return to prominence.

    Lol you would be correct

  • Harsh to the old regime? The old regimae deserved the criticism. There were alot of bad habits and outdated philosophies and sorry but PSU was not performing to its potential under the old staff. Laschout guys were on point!

    Couldnt agree more.

I continue to say this, but Joe had this program operating like a program ran in the 80's.

I guess I should warn you, if I turn out to be particularly clear, you've probably misunderstood what I've said.

  • Site is not going away and will be back as the season approaches and we'll probably do some things over spring ball/Blue white. Bottom line is we all have young kids, jobs, etc. We do it for fun and don't have time to run something year round. We also don't care to put up boring BS stuff just to fill time. We'll be back...

    PSULIONS17

  • Glad to hear that you will be back.

I am not sure if you are directing that question at me or 17 but most ofnour guys have multiple sources within psu. Some from the old staff and some from the new staff. Some from psu admin or the athletic department. I can tell you that I have had dinner with both old staff members and a certain new one within the last 10 days. But no matter what we will only report when we feel comfortable doing so and when it matters. As 17 says family and work come first for all of us.

So in other words, they are so happy with a staff having no track record that they are soiling their panties, and they whine like babies when they have some reality to measure things by.

There's nothing to respect about fans who are so consumed by their fantasies they *expect* change to be for the better without realizing it might not be -- Nebraska fans were like that when they hired Bill Callanah to bring new life into the program, and so were Michigan fans with DickRod. It's really stupid -- although I don't expect BOB to flop like those two examples, I also doubt he'll be as good as the dreamers do.

But good for the clowns at Laschout that they are full of warm and fuzzy feelings for a staff which hasn't won a game yet -- I bet they turn on BOB like rats when they discover that he isn't Vince Lombardi, Knute Rockne and Bud Wilkinson all rolled into one.

There's nothing to respect about fans who are so consumed by their fantasies they *expect* change to be for the better without realizing it might not be -- Nebraska fans were the same when they hired Bill Callanah to bring new life into the program, and so were Michigan fans with DickRod. It's really stupid. Outside of the fact that you're wrong about how these guys are acting, are you truly saying the last staff was fulfilling their total obligation? Note, I didn't like the OB hire and am still very cautious about it.

Also, not so much to you in particular, but I have been impressed that OB has embraced the JoePa values that were here. Dick Rod and Callahan at NU both tried to change everything when they took over, BOB not so much.

Also, kudos to the LaschOut guys, they havent hid from anything here. I've had plenty of arguments with TRock especially, but also enjoy talking ball with those guys. They aren't homers in the slightest.

lol what a sheep...we won't miss you in the stands if thats how you feel. You are lying to yourself if you actually think Joe Paterno was fulfilling his duties that a major CFB coach SHOULD be doing. Our program was being held back immensely and it was incredibly obvious to see. That's not saying BO'B will be good at all...i know I'm not sold yet; but i'm 125% confident there are numerous, numerous other coaches out there that will/would have had our program running much much better since the early 2000's. Is BO'B one of them? Remains to be seen. This mentality is the very reason why we have been the OSU whipping boy the past decade and usually an afterthought on the national scene....also is the reason why we haven't won a national title in 2 and a half decades. Got to love the fans that think "well I get to show up to tailgates 6-7 times a year and then we usually make a bowl game so there's no reason to change" lol

  • It's obvious now that the football program was running at < 50% efficiency with the old guard. I don't see how anyone with half a brain could defend them.
