wow is all I have to say

Maybe mikee2 wants to get in on that 2-week posting ban bet in the other inane thread?

I guess I should warn you, if I turn out to be particularly clear, you've probably misunderstood what I've said.

He didn't say that he showed anything in games...but in practice.

DOB was there for one practice and it's not hard to see the physical skills of Bolden and Jones. You're honestly telling me that wasn't part of it? If I have 2 schools in mind and go to a practice for each and see one school with basically nobody throwing the ball, and then another school with 3 guys throwing, 2 of which look very talented physically and another who has played a lot and is a senior.....it's not a hard choice if you are looking for PT.

Thank you md154... I'm glad to see some people still have common sense...

  • Cant wait to see DOB look like this when we play Wiscy this year.

Weak minds... Wiscy looks a lot worse than us without him as QB... In the end, he should of chose us and our elite staff... But to each his own. Cant wait to see him cry and field awkward questions in the losing presser

  • Penn State has more question marks. I think the kid thinks he has a much better chance of going to the Rose Bowl or BCS at Wisconsin than PSU. Time to move on.

  • Can't remember where I read it, but someone said that while DOB was at practice Monday and saw Jones he said "whoa, he's a great athlete. Surprised he's not a TE," or something to that effect.
So Jones definitely did jump out at him.
Now, if he's scared of the competition, well... I mean, he picked Wisconsin, a guaranteed starting spot but with unknown offensive coaches since that side of the ball was guttedafter Chryst left for Pitt, as opposed to the OC in the Super Bowl just 1.5 months ago, whose offense runs the same principles to that of Ralph Friedgen, under whom DOB enjoyed his success, but was told he would have to prove he is the best QB in camp.

I don't like to say this or sound bitter, but it sounds like he's being a pussy.

He's looking at the depth we have at other positions and realized that if he came here he'd spend the next 2 years on his back b/c our o-line sucks and he'd have to score 30-40 pts a game b/c our secondary sucks and won't be able to stop anyone.

I fully believe DOB came to watch practice and saw the "physical" talents of Bolden and Jones and figured he would have less competition at Wisky... Because there is no other reason for him to pick Wisky over PSU... He loved PSU and even came back for a second visit BUT I believe he got "scared" of the competition... IMO...

I think you are drunk. My nine year old son wouldn't be afraid of competition with any of those on the roster at QB for PSU.

Is our secondary really any worse than last year? Yeah we lost 4 guys, and they were pretty much all non-contributors.
Chaz Powell did absolutely nothing. We might as well have had a cardboard cut out at CB in his place, and unfortunately after Lynn suffered his neck injury, he was just never the same and below average.
Everyone complained about Sukay's play at S and half the board wanted Willis in his place anyway. Astorino will most likely be missed.
But if Derrick Thomas (who is with the team for spring practice) can play, along with Amos with a year of experience under his belt, our secondary shouldn't be any worse than it was last year.

  • He saw the following

    A horrid Offensive Line.
    Question marks at WR
    Question marks at TE
    A new offensive scheme

Our QBs were the least of the concerns

Are you guys on this board retarded??? I said the PHYSICAL TOOLS!!!!! I didn't say they were great QB's.... And both Bolden and Jones definitely pass the eye exam when it comes to physical talent... and if he was looking at what the entire team has to offer... Wisky doesn't have as much talent as we do...

I think I may have down-voted you by mistake - sorry. Actually agree with you.

You're "that guy" at the office aren't you?

The one that just tells countless stories about your 9 year old. Hate to be the one to say it, but someone has to. People don't care...in fact they think "Oh great, it's Monday now I'll have to listen to Jim at the water cooler talk about his kid and how he went 2-3 in little league and got an A on his math test."

Our secondary stunk last year evidenced by the fact that any time we played a team with a decent QB we got killed so even if it was just as good as last year it still stinks!

I think the point is obvious. No one should be afraid of Bolden or Paul Jones relative to competition for the QB position at PSU. I bring my kid into it to strengthen the fact more.

He doesn't have the height or the throwing ability just yet, but he isn't afraid to compete. He would look at Brett Farve and ask who is he?

    This.

He saw all the positions we're not looking good at, and realized we're rebuilding. Wiscy is in better position to compete for BCS bowls than we are right now. It is what it is.
