Less competition at Wisconsin but there are a lot of other things to like about Madison. Maybe he is really into cheese curds.

I have heard and there have been reports that Bolden is lights out in practice but cant transition to the actual game (which was a reason why the staff kept sticking with him despite his terrible show on Saturdays). Would not be surprised Jones is that way either as they were both highly thought of coming out of HS and Bolden did pretty well in the camps he attended (which while not practice, it is more practice play than real game play).

Come on now. Bolden hasn't show anything. Jones has been... I don't know and no one else does.

If anything, he saw the other components of our team - Oline, lack of depth at RB, WR quality, DB quality and depth... and found them wanting.

I'm assuming the overall look of the Wisconsin team probably impressed him a lot more than we did.

No doubt in my mind. Physically and measurably, DOB is not even in the same leauge as RB and PJ. In non-game situations, from everything we've heard, RB looks like the second-coming of Arron Rodgers (fyi: I don't see color). :-)

Actually, the historical take on Jones has been that he doesn't practice well but shows up at game time, which could support his uneven practice and lights out B/W game. That said, IMO, uneven practice performance indicates discipline (the focus kind) issues which would be supported by his academic woes. Let's hope his recent academic improvement indicates maturity and we see that same improved focus in practice.

If it's true Bolden is a monster in practice, isn't this where a GOOD QB coach can help him carry it over to game situations?

He didn't say that he showed anything in games...but in practice.

DOB was there for one practice and it's not hard to see the physical skills of Bolden and Jones. You're honestly telling me that wasn't part of it? If I have 2 schools in mind and go to a practice for each and see one school with basically nobody throwing the ball, and then another school with 3 guys throwing, 2 of which look very talented physically and another who has played a lot and is a senior.....it's not a hard choice if you are looking for PT.

I think it was a combination of more competition at QB and also lack of depth at key positions.
