... charged with marijuana possession by Penn State police today.

Was only a matter of time really. Cops don't find things like that and let the player get off the hook.

If it's just possession, just a 1 game suspension or something. Not a big deal to me.

Agree. I dont think its a big deal having MJ or a bowl. If he was dealing like we originally thought something was going on, then yeah definitely off the team.
Suspend him for a few games, then give him another chance. Dont think Smith has been an offender anytime during his career here. No reason to throw him to the curb, as CFB would not exist (at least we'd have less players) if we threw every player who smokes MJ to the curb.

This. 1st offense of something most in college do regardless of the law. This is like a hundred cars travelling on a freeway doing 70 in a 55 and 1 gets pulled over. Could have been any one of the hundred. He deserves a just punishment. A fine and community service is fair. Maybe a 2 game suspension.
