Rittenberg/Bennett @ESPN_BigTen Asked Jim Delany last month if he had concern about teams leaving B1G. "No. Not in my view. But I do think that you need to build ..." cont Expand Reply Retweet Favorite
Rittenberg/Bennett @ESPN_BigTen Delany ... "the driving force is demographics, but when you look at it, you can’t help but think this is good for Penn State as well."
Rittenberg/Bennett @ESPN_BigTen Thought it was telling that he mentioned Penn State in answer. Had heard some chatter about Penn State possibly looking elsewhere.
Wonder how loud this chatter was and how much the last expansion move of was appease Penn State.

People in PA don't care about Pitt outside of Pittsburgh. Then you have the massive alumni base down the East Coast that PSU brings. Pitt in no way shape or form would come close to being an equivalent replacement.

Assuming ND and Texas never come to join the B1G...
I think the B1G should lock up FSU (which is the flavor of the week right now), forget about GT, great school but not sure they'd really bring the Atlanta market and I'd rather have UVA.
Hopefully FSU bolting shakes the ACC up enough that UVA leaves for B1G, with VT going SEC maybe GT to big 12 and then we wait out for UNC and Duke.
UVA, FSU, UNC, DUKE .....would be awesome bball wise and really improve our conference academically (though football not so much).
