Delaney is a major TOOL

  • Thanks for sticking up for PSU like you did for OSU last year, you dirtbag.

  • I don't like Delaney, but to be fair, OSU was going to be a BCS bowl which increased conference revenues. I don't think the commissioner should meddle with bowl selections for tie-in bowls. The B1G makes just as much money with PSU in the Ticket City as the Insight Bowl.

He should be trying to protect the PSU brand, imo. That is good for the Big Ten. Letting us fall to a piece of crap bowl, and having that add on to the misery is not good business is the long run.

    POV

  • He's shown no support for us in any way. It might be nice to hear a statement like "I am proud of the players for their strength through these times.". He is a dirtbag.

  • Much like F ESPN and F the NCAA. How about....F the Big 10??? F Jim Delaney.

Delaney made the sweetheart of the deal with the NCAA to make sure Pryor, Adams, Posey and Herron were allowed to play against the Razorbacks. If not for him going to bat for OSU, the Buckeyes get their as*es handed to them in the bowl game.

  • Why should Delaney man up when our own BOT doesn't? Just asking.

We need Erickson to say ENOUGH already, then others will do the same. Sadly I'm afraid Erickson may not have the cajones.

That's a fair point. However, Delaney has been in this position for a while now so he *should* have the cajones to stand up for a member institution. Being in the Big10 is like dating an annoying rich bitch - financially you're set but there are a lot of downsides that come along with it.

  • I'm to the point where I wish the Big Ten would just kick us out.

In 1994, the conference dicked us. And once again the Big Ten didn't do anything to fight for us. Last year, Delaney couldn't stop sucking off Ohio State. Boot us out, give us back our TV rights and get someone in the conference that you actually want.

What's the point of being in a conference when the conference doesn't support you?

As an ACC fan I wish you guys would tell OSU's conference to shove it and jump in with is. Your recruiting would benefit and with PSU we would make more money than any other conference. Get it started men!

  • Would have no problem heading over to the ACC with Notre Dame as the 15th and 16th member, and playing in the ACC North division against Pitt, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and BC. 9 game conference schedule rotating with every South team 2 years on, 6 years off. Va Tech, Notre Dame, and Pitt become bitter rivals, the like of which PSU never had in the Big10.

Oh, and in the move to the 16 team super conferences, the Big10 doesn't recover from the loss of PSU and Notre Dame, TX and OK head west, and the B1G ends up having to fill in w/ Uconn, Cinncinati, Kansas, K State, and Iowa State. Urban Meyer retires after 1 year, Wisconsin gets busted for their "strength program", Michigan fires Hoke after going 33-6 over 3 years but with a loss to Apalachan State and hires another "hot offensive mind from West Virginia" and the B1G becomes the Big Joke with mediocre Iowa and Michigan State alternating titles. The B1G eventually loses their AQ status, right before the 1st 4 team playoff which becomes a showdown between the PAC, SEC, ACC, and a wild-card.

It just sounds beautiful. You guys could take 50,000 people to every away game. The entire east coast would be able to see a conference with more star power than any of the others.

    PSU
    Notre Dame
    Virginia Tech
    Florida State
    Miami
    Pitt
    Clemson
    Boston College
    Syracuse
    UNC
    Duke
    Virginia
    Wake Forest_
    Cuse
    NC State
    Maryland

    Wow what a weekly schedule.

Was just having the thought earlier today that I wish Penn State would leave the Big10. F the Big10! It's probably unrealistic but I'd be elated if it happened. The ACC would make the most sense but I'm afraid the money in the Big10 is to good for this to happen.

  • Nothing like Penn State hate on the Big Ten. The conference could shit a 14 carrot diamond and some would complain it was not a 16 carrot one. Meanwhile my school was a play and flag away from the Rose. If it would of happen to you it would be another Big Ten conspiracy theory. I dont want Penn State to ever leave the conference but on a daily basis one of these threads exists on one of your boards. The sad thing is many on here have no memories of your old days. Therefore it is people in their late 30s on up screaming about the ghosts of yesterday.

  • You were also a hail mary away from watching the BIG title game. While we're playing the what if game, what if PSU didn't have a a shit storm following their program for a week leading up to the Nebraska game that they lost by 3. If they win that game they clinch the BIg leaders division, and wisky is at home eating cheese. This isn't a what if, this is the Big Ten commissioner standing up for OSU last yeah and allowing ineligible players to play in a bowl game. Then promptly letting PSU eat shit teh next year.

I like the sound of that ACC North, sadly it wont ever happen.

Would love to tell Delaney, OSU and Michigan to shove it and bolt. However, what would be the possibility of PSU heading to the ACC with the scandal? I don't think ti would be welcomed just yet.

  • Meanwhile while your program and university is going to through a handful of investigations all the way up to the federal level, some of you look fondly at a second rate conference that would break apart in heartbeat if any of the power conferences came calling. Clemson and FSU would bolt for the SEC in a second if they could and Maryland, BC, Pitt and Syracuse would bolt for the Big Ten just about as quick. I have come to the conclusion message boards represent the lunatic fringe for the most part. This is no different.

our program is 100% innocent and untouched. The media lies, and people want to think badly of PSU because we really are better than the rest. So screw the big 10. You don't deserve us.

I hear this line all the time on your boards. The only people who think you are outsiders are Penn State posters who think the Big Ten is worst thing ever and posters from other schools who jerk your chain. All the schools in this conference value you as a member.

I wonder where PSU fans get that idea?

    Let's rewind in time.

PSU joins the Big Ten in 1989. Not allowed to play until 1993.
1994 PSU has the first undefeated untied team since 1968, oh wait, the ENTIRE conference votes for nebraska. Why? Because we can't have this new kid come in and in their 2nd year, dominate us, and win a national title.
2010, Jim Delaney literally is on his knees sucking Ohio State to get them a BCS bowl, and then gets their ineligible players eligible to play. He openly campaigned for this.
2011 Jim Delaney does NOTHING to assist Penn State, knowing full well that 115 innocent kids are getting punished, after going 9-3 and playing in essentially a 8th or 9th place bowl

Nope, nothing to see here, Screw the Big Ten. I hope the presidents get together and vote Penn State out because the University, the Program and oh, the MONEY is far too toxic to keep in the conference.

F THE BIG TEN. Get someone in this stupid conference that they want, because it's clear that the Big Ten Brass does NOT want Penn State in the conference, nor will they do ANYTHING to help Penn State either. If this was Ohio State or Michigan though...you'd still be hearing the sucking noises coming from the Big Ten Offices.

I hate the conference, always have, always will. Kick us out, give us back our TV rights, and we'll find someone who actually WANTS Penn State in the conference.

Yawn- this stuff gets old. You hate the conference (always have and always will) even though being in the Big Ten is in the best interests of your university? This is just a self destructive mentality.
