  • Averett is the one I want most. He's going to blow up this summer. I think he could be a good punt/kickoff returner as well.

    think he's being recruited at WR (at least was anyway) but if not I'd love to see him in the secondary and he would be 1B alongside Averett on the list.

  • How they shake out between DB and WR can be determined anytime over the next year to four years... to add both Averett and Boyd to this class would really take the overall athleticism up another notch, and allow either BOB or Roof to do the things they want to do on D or O... I don't care where they end up, I just want both... both super exciting ball players, with elite athleticism and talent.

    On a serious note though, I think we stand well with Barnwell and Averett. As well as Boyd who can play both ways.

    Camp offers to some guys like Reon Dawson (if he gets over the earlier snub) and Milan Collins could also happen. Should be interesting to watch.

    Averett may have Bama on top, but we've been on him heavy, have a better depth chart, and I am.not convinced he goes that far from Jersey or has a commitable offer from Bama (thus why he may have to go to camp).

    Barnwell is a guy they want to see in person before they offer. To me its a formality.

    Williams is interesting to say the least. I could see him as a SS or a Whip player. Just depends on how he grows. I like, dont love, the offer.

    Boyd I think could dominate at FS or be a solid WR.

  • Boyd has gotten really good reviews as a receiver at camps and it's where he wants to play. BOB is going to emphasize the position, so I think all things being equal a guy like Boyd becomes a WR.

    Now, if we somehow managed to snag Harris and Foster maybe that changes.

    Lefty: I have heard Boyd is doing well there. I like keeping him as a ATH and putting him where we need him. I really think he could be a dominant FS though. That said if Hixon wants his million man army at WR and we have room I am ok with that as well.

    Short would rank much lower I think. He looks to be a camp kid and I would bet we want to see what others are thinking before we would offer him or accept a commitment.
