Dukes' HS coach says "He thought if he showed [PSU] loyalty, he would get the same thing"... and "Maybe there are some difficulties for him understanding some of the schemes but, even with that, he could have a package set where he gets some time." See http://espn.go.com/blog/colleges/psu/post?id=2218
So let me get this straight, an elite coaching staff is supposed to reward players who stay regardless of whether they learn the schemes or protect the football. Total nonsense.
PSU may be sanctioned, but it's not a charity football team.

I don't think he truly means going to the NFL. I think it was his way of saying he isn't happy with playing time and it was a hint to other coaches that he is interested in transferring after the season. He isn't going to come out and say it during this season that he will transfer for next year. Unfortunately he didn't pan out at PSU as a RB. Good luck next year wherever you go. Helps both PSU and Dukes. Win win in my book. No need to bash the kid. Part ways and we are all happy.

Why do all of you guys take a straight statement and try to twist it to defend the kid. If he thinks he should be playing he thinks he is nfl material. He just has not figured out yet that he is not the brightest light in the chandelier and that he will not be successful in any major program or the nfl because of it.

What do you want him say: "I can't wait until this season is over so I can transfer to another school."? Think about it. He is going to be in that locker room for the balance of the season. He may not be smart but I don't think he's an idiot either.
