Walk-on's might like PSU in that they can play for a legendary program and have a chance to see the field and contribute. But, the preferred walk on types might not like PSU in that there is less chance to earn a scholly. With so few to dole out, less kids will be granted a scholly in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years on campus after proving their worth. I think that over this 4 year span we can still get better recruits than the Minny's and Indy's of the world. If we can get kids that can compete, it will be up to BOB and staff to coach them up to beat the Wisc, Iowa, and MSU of the world on a pretty regular clip. OSU and scUM will have better athletes on the field until 2019 or so. But with a new S and C program, and if we can hold onto BOB and the staff, I think we match up very well to stay in that top teir of the Legends Div pretty much annually, even during these lean probation years.

I really fear that an NFL team gets BOB in the next 2-3 years.

I think we are safe with BOB for the next 2-3 years but if, and I hope we do, continue to win he will be hard to keep. With that said, it will be easier to hire a "known" coach next go around because the sanctions will be all but gone. I think BOB was the right hire for the right time, at the time I didn't think that, and if he leaves I will always be thankful for his leadership during this time and will not begrudge him if he does leave after 4-5 years.

That was my understanding also. I believe there's a hefty buyout ($9M?) if he leaves early.

Doesn't he make like $1.2 million a year? I'f so, that buyout is a huge part of his contract.
