Couple of Talking Points re: Wisconsin

  • Wisconsin is playing MUCH better now than they were at the beginning of the year. This will be an extremely difficult game, especially if Wiscy has the ball for the majority of the 1st half.....that will completely wear our DL down for the 2nd half, then it is game over. The Badgers will definitely be favored.

I get ya, we have the same issues in our hurry up. Sometimes we just hurry up and give the ball back to them...lol

    Exactly.

I love the hurry up when it works, but the backfire can be too much some times and especially when we're banged up along the DL.

I don't care if we throw or pass to get the first, just as long as we get the new set of downs.

  • Unfortunately, I think Saturday's current forecast favors Wisconsin.

Cold and a chance of flurries.

This and if the Refs allow the usual Wisconsin OL holding/mugging to go on, spells trouble for us. We need to be ahead significantly at half otherwise our defense esp dl will wear down.

I'm not one to complain about refs, but I did notice 'how" the Wisky OL block, and it "used" to be considered holding, and thought it still is...

I watched a DVR of our game last night as I missed the 4th Qtr and OT due to my woman scheduling a dinner (WTF!?)

I counted 11 times the Wisky OL would have their hands on the outside jersey (points of shoulders) of our DL. This enabled them to turn the defender either way they wanted. I was always taught and believed "hands inside" and you can grab some jersey. But these were all on the points of each shoulder. So, if that is now a non call, then M. Ball is going to run for 150 every game.

Maybe MTayl can clear up the rule for me....Is that still a hold?

  • Just FYI, here's an article mentioning Wisconsin's players and plan for the week leading up to this weekend.

Get the latest on the Badgers before they take Penn State

Get the latest on the Badgers from within the Wisconsin football program as they prepare to take on Penn State.

  • Nobody whines about refs like the Penn State fan base whines. You whine when you lose. You whine when you win. Now you're whining before the game is even played.

No one was whining there, they were describing. Key distinction. ;-)

Personally I hope it dumps snow.

Maybe ZZ will wear gloves, and the student section can do our part by throwing snowballs.

I posted about Wisky's holding technique and I'm not a PSU fan. Sorry
