I was pretty bored this morning and was wondering if the UA/Army underclassmen combines had results out open to the public? I'd be interested in reading about some of the numbers put up there. I know we've gotten bits and pieces from some articles but was just wondering if anyone knew where the full set was.
I think this is the UA one, took a while to find.
Do you know what kind of QB Andrew Ford "feels" like to me? A Northwestern QB. Just throwing that out there.
I know someone mentioned him here recently (rmj) and Cory talked about him last fall....but Reilly Gibbons is a heck of an athlete. A 4.64 electronic timed 40 at 6'4 274??

Wow...Adonis Jennings - 4.73 forty, 6'2" 185
Chris Godwin - 4.48 forty, 6'1" 197
Cameron Phillips - 4.92 forty , 5'11 1/2" , 172
Godwin pretty easily has better numbers across the board. This offense desperately needs speed and playmakers. I don't think we can afford to take another "good hands/good route runner with average speed" I know numbers aren't everything, but Godwin looks like the best of this bunch simply based off of those.

Other guys of interest....
Justice Rawlins - 5.07 forty 5'11" 223
Thad Smith - 4.65, 5'9 163
Thaddeus Snodgrass - 4.55 (other numbers comparable to Godwin) 6'0, 175
Nate Stone (LB from PA) - 5.0 forty, 5'11" 229, Really strong
Johnathan Thomas - 4.47 forty, 5'10 1/2" 196, Pretty good numbers, needs to get stronger for sure.
Jordan Whitehead (2015 DB) - 4.62 forty, 5'10 1/2" 161
thanks, sarcasm or did it actually take awhile to find? I personally couldn't find it at UA's combine website.
No sarcasm, went looking for it a week ago and it took me forever.
I would worry about Cam Phillips 40 time, if he isn't a track athlete....he probably has no clue on how to get a good start from a 3-point position and thus giving him a very slow 40 time.
Adonis Jennings running a 4.73 forty at 16 and that size is also pretty impressive. The average time for NFL wrs at the combine is somewhere in the 4.6 range.
JMO, I would rather have a guy that can catch any ball thrown to him because of "natural hands" than a guy with suspect hands, but world class speed (think Moo Moo). Triangle numbers are nice, but look at Denard Robinson...he is having a horrible Senior Bowl week because he is not a natural catcher.

I agree. Route running and hands are what matter, especially with this offense. Now, of course, if you have a 6'3+ kid with 4.55 or better speed, that's pretty darn enticing. But generally speaking, I prefer "possession receivers"
While I agree with both of you, and even stated that numbers aren't everything....but considering Godwin's film and those numbers...wow. He's an impressive prospect. I'm of the opinion that if we take a WR in 2014...he needs to be a burner that can stretch the field. We have a glut of receivers but none of them are going to blow by you. Speed is the one piece we're missing in our O. BOB is clearly going after it at RB and if we can get Thompkins or Godwin, they can go a long ways to getting it at the WR position. I mean, we're talking about both of these guys in the 6' + range and Godwin is nearly 200 pounds....not quite Moo-Moo. Really, speed needs to be an absolute priority on both sides of the ball in 2014 imo.
I definitely agree we need to add speed and I really like Godwin (from the little I have seen).
I was just more talking about triangle numbers and how they can be deceiving. Godwin, is probably a bit faster than Phillips, but I would be shocked if it was by .4 seconds.
if anyone is able to find the Army underclassmen combine results please post them in this thread. I haven't been successful finding them.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
I'm perfectly ok with that.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
