Blog regarding exchange between Ziegler and Erickson at LA alum event
I was just ready to post this. Interesting indeed.
About what I expected from Erickson. Pretty much said the same thing in front of the state senate. Sucks my alma mater has such embarrassing leadership.
You had a choice Rodney. You still have a choice. Grow a pair.
A shame the Miami pres has a bigger set than RE.
Poor Rodney didn't know what he was walking into. I almost feel bad for him at this moment.... almost.
Ziegler was wearing a name tag. Unbelievable that Rod wouldn't at least glance at that. Actually, he seems so clueless that he probably wouldn't even realize that is the man who has been leading the PR charge against him and his Board cronies. Every time I think this whole thing can't get any more bizarre, it does.

Wow - so very interesting.
See, this is good stuff from Zeigler. He just needs to control himself and not turn into a raving lunatic at times.
Just remember the BOT later gave him an 85K raise for the last two years of his tenure which equates to approximately 50K per year for the rest of his life, given the formula used by psers. In effect, if he lives 20 years they gave him a million dollar parting bonus.
I'm inclined to believe he had no choice, I just think the ones who forced him to acquiesce were actually on the BOT and not the NCAA. This is only my opinion, no one else's.
"We want the warriors"
Outside of the amusing photo, it really isn't that interesting at all.
"Rodney Erickson was clearly forced to sign the NCAA consent decree and that he needs to testify to that effect in the Paterno lawsuit."
Can't Erickson be forced to testify in the lawsuit? Seems like the judge would want to hear from him if the NCAA claims he wasn't coerced.
As far as i know he isnt protected from being subpoenaed.
I wouldnt go that far. Most of us knew that the ncaa extorted/coerced him.
This is the first time its been publicly said.
He needs to testify as he has knowledge that very few others have.
That's what I'm thinking. Ray and Erickson already have conflicting stories. Would love to see that unfold in court.
He said right away that he was forced to sign the concent decree or PSU would get the death penalty. He confirmed that with the CDT right after the sanctions came out.
This whole Zigler thing is pretty insignificant.
Mark Emmert made it clear Monday that the heavy sanctions handed down came from the NCAA, not Penn State. The school didn't offer any self-imposed pen

The John Dietz comments were interesting.
There was a story a while back that said that member of the UNLV Board realized how big hoops was and that they had no say in what Tark did so they actually were the ones that told the NCAA most of the stuff in order to get the control back.
I could actually see that happening here with Peetz and Surma leading the charge.
Look, people wanted Joe to retire. When he constantly refused and wouldn't retire they had to think of another way. They couldn't.
Until some perverts activities came to light and that was the little opening they needed.
I wish some of the big time billion and millionares would set up a fund and give it to whoever comes out from the Board and tells the truth first.,
Not really. The guy is in charge of securing large donations to the university. He doesn't want trouble at an alumni event that probably has wealthy donors.
Look, I don't like Ziegler and I think he is terrible for PSU. Even in his 2nd paragraph in this blog posting, he either lied about or flat out ignored the fact that Erickson already addressed why he signed the consent decree all the way back in July 2012. He does this constantly to paint a picture to fit his agenda. I have no problem with people wanting answers, but his way of going about it is classless and frankly I don't believe everything he says. He's a loose cannon.
Everyone has choices. The President of the University of Miami made the correct one.
So roll over and not take it to court?
He's the definition of a loose cannon.
