And before he got caught at McDonald's they did it successfully at a few other places.
You can't excuse his actions in this - whether it looses him his opportunity to play football at PSU is to be seen.
Exactly. Could not have said it better myself. No one should defend anything he did for any reason, at all. There is no excuse for this.
And I know there are a few on here that will do just that.
That's because they're kind people, and you're just a big ol' internet bully.
As I admit every time I propose budget cuts to human service agencies, I have no heart.
For as quick as his buddies flipped him you would think he would have more to lose and therefore provide more information.
That is unless he was the goto guy or is the guy with the connection. Could be part of something bigger.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
All for some McDonalds too. Dumb, really dumb.
BacardiBuckeye: "But in all honesty I like Penn State, I want to see Penn State do good that's why I check this board everyday." 4/2/14
All for the change he would receive at McDonalds. It wasn't a scam for free burgers, it was a scam for real money.
Most kids charged with a felony would have their admission to Penn state in jeopardy. Much less a scholarship.
I can't believe that we would honor this kid's scholarship - if he's guilty as charged. This isn't a kid getting drunk. This is stealing money from people and local business, and who knows how much they got away with before either. There's no way you can claim he didn't know this wasn't wrong behavior either.

I agree with everything you've said. This is bigger than getting caught underage drinking or getting into a bar fight. He committed a felony and he should be punished accordingly and if he loses his scholarship so be it. I don't understand what some of these kids are thinking. It seems like its always the same type of kid if know what I mean. Having said that, PSU needs all the help they can get and if he can help them win football games, then we should try and keep him on the team. This may be an unnecessary side effect of the sanctions.

Dominate The State
Damn this blows... If OB does drop him, can psu offer a early enrolle with his ship? I'd assume not since he counted towards 1 of the 15 right.
I disagree with the end of your post. Issah (allegedly) has serious things to straighten out in his life, and placing PSU football wins ahead of that is wrong. We should all know that by now. Coach is going to have to sit down and have a hard talk with this kid. Whatever OB decides to do, I'll support it. But his decision should NOT be based solely on how we can get the most wins during the sanction period, and I believe BOB knows that.
Wow!!! Dont want to start rumors but I live in the burg. Word is that this has been going on since october, he was buyin bills from a guy in the hood, then bought his own printer.
If that's true than we don't have to worry about his scholarship - he'll be in jail.
Yep, I believe the penalty is much harsher for printing your own vs. just "cashing" it.
Now that's good parenting.
If that's true, I don't want him here.
I bet Arizona State would still take him...
Doesn't sound good from what I'm hearing either.
Can't wait for the 30 for 30 on this in 20 years. And this story is blowing up national, it's everywhere. No way this kid ever gets to PSU.
After Steubenville, there's going to be a large flashlight on big time HS football.
If this guy makes it onto campus, I will be furious.
This isn't the type of crap our program needs right now. The only silver lining of the whole thing is BOB has another EE schollie to give for this class.
What a friggin' moron. I'd question his scholarship just on mental aptitude alone after reading about all of this.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
I'm with you. What kind of message would this send.
I don't want to start rumors ... but I will.
If BOB is OK with it, which reports are he is, I am. He will be on a short leash though. Im sure BOB told him, one more strike and you're gone. We live in a country of second chances. Sucks starting off your college career on probation though...
