IF DA held on against welch he'd be in the finals for sure
We should thank gelogaev cuz he was in control and for no reason put himself in a scramble and literally fell and Nelson just put his chest on him. Looked rigged haha
I oddly was very calm during that game after halftime. I just felt like we were going to win, and I was sitting back and enjoying a hard fought win to end a magical season. Looking back now, I must've been on the verge of death due to nerves and my brain was preparing me to go peacefully.
And man, that Okie St. heavy just pissed that match away.
The Russian mob does still have a good amount of influence when they want to . . .
Maybe he should've put his singlet on correctly. Seriously though, what the hell was he thinking? He had that sealed.
They're responsible for te lights too
No fighting clue what he was thinking. I could understand it more if he was working for a major or a TF, but in that situation, it was probably just a brain fart.
And was his singlet really on backwards? I heard the announcer mention it, but I couldn't tell. My stream wasn't exactly HD.
Yeah, half his back was showing and it was high up on his neck on the front. You could tell he was uncomfortable in it haha
I still remember when one of the Sharks defensemen mysteriously needed "personal time" and disappeared back home to Russia for a few months midseason. We never got an official explanation, but there were lots of little tidbits leaking out here and there, stuff like "russian mob" and "holding his family hostage."
So again, it wouldn't surprise me.
Its not locked but sure is looking good!
5 in the FINALS and up 20 points. Has to be locked up. Placement points alone for 1st = 16, 2nd = 12, 3rd = 10, 4th = 9. WORSE case thats 60 more PSU points. OKST doesn't have a chance for 80 more points. But, correct me if I'm wrong.

1. Penn State, 114.5 (5, 0, 0)
2. Oklahoma State, 94 (2, 4, 1)
3. Minnesota, 86 (1, 4, 3)
4. Iowa, 68 (2, 2, 0)
5. Cornell, 51 (1, 3, 0)
“Never trust a government that doesn't trust its own citizens with guns.”
We can max out at 144 they can max out at 140. Only three teams can mathematically win at this point. Third team being minn
I'M SO FIGHTING PUMPED RIGHT NOW!
Awesome session. Between going 5/5 in the semis and Iowa being eliminated from the team race, this was a phenomenal night.
Sorry, how do the placement points work then? Aren't they added to the team points in the end?
Is that how scoring works? I thought we already have credit for the 12 points each for second place (since it is worst case) and we only get four more points for each wrestler that wins.

Penn State's score already reflects the second place points for the wrestlers in the championships because they can get no worse than second place, Penn State will only get more points with a wins, same goes for OSU and Minny.
I think we would have it wrapped up, right? Worst case for us, 5x12=60. Osu would have to score 81 to overtake us bc try are down 20.5.
If both finalists win, that's 2x16=32. If all four of their guys in the 3/4 match win, that's 4x10=40. I don't know what's going on with their other guy but he could t get more than 8 points, considering that 4th place is 9 pts and he will finish at best 5th. Altogether, 32+40+8=80. So worst case for us and best case for them and we still win by 0.5.
I'm a novice at this stuff so correct me if I'm wrong.
Forgot about bonus points! So it def is still open to both us and osu but everything has to go wrong for us and everything right for them plus at least one bonus point.
Sounds good for the good guys.

Strez, you are correct. We already have 12 pts per finalist built into out total of 114.5. If all 5 win, we will get a min of 20 pts added to our team total, and there is a chance of up to 2 bonus points per match. So, our top end is 144.5. Penn State Wrestling Club website has the max possible points for everyone. Keep in mind that the max possible that they show is that if all of the teams wrestlers win all of their remaining matches by pins.
Ahhh...forgot about bonus points. Thanks for the info!
Without looking at bonus points, I'm fairly certain the max points would be...

No problem. The Penn State Wrestling Club website updates constantly throughout the action and you will see the max possible score for each team go down based on the results of the matches. It's probably worth checking out after the action in the AM session tomorrow to see how the competition looks after all of the consolation matches are over. Then, it would be pretty easy to figure things out for the finals Sat night.
Not exactly how that works. They max out points as soon as they win. Only get additional points for winning and pin or maj dec
Thanks, rob and Justin. Helpful. It's looking very very good for us.
