I never said he was on their level, I said he was a hell of a coach.
And to have any type of success at Utah State is impressive. Plus, he has them set for the next two seasons offensively because he recruited Chuckie Keeton(sp?).
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
From the bowl game I watched (only game I saw of USU all year so TIFWIW), their offense reminded me of Dan Mullen's spread. A lot of power football and not so much speed.
It's certainly not a Texas Tech type offense.
The concern I would have for their transition is whether or not they can find a QB to run it. Can Stace run at all? Or is he strictly a pocket QB?
He may be a good coach, but he has no connection to the region that has sustained Wisconsin. Success at the highest levels of college football begins and ends with recruiting.
I like the Wisconsin job, but it is a program that has relied on intense regional recruiting in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Ohio. It'll be interesting to see the recruiting strategy of this new staff and how successful they are at implementing it.
This could be RichRod at Michigan, or it could be Meyer at Florida. We'll see.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
From last year's bowl game (different OC), the Wisky game earlier in the season. I came away with the same vibe a balanced offense attack. This year, they rushed the ball 470 times and passed it 420.
Like Texas said they should be fine upfront and in the running game. However, the big question is QB and who runs the offense. I also wonder about their lack of skill WRs at least next year.
Isn't Abby coming back next year?
Other than him though I'm not sure who they have.
Yeah both him and Pederson return, but as they are the only two guys that caught more than 20 passes last year
Wisconsin threw more than 40 times? Could've fooled me.
They may have to go the JUCO route if they're looking for immediate help.
Relatively speaking it seems like this guy has done a lot with a little. Robert Turbin and Bobby Wagner seem like they are studs in the making (possibly on another team for Turbin bc Beast Mode isn't losing his job anytime soon) and USU also had an impressive team this year. Looks like a pretty good hire for Wisky!
slight bump, SIAP, Matt Wells (Anderson's OC) will not be following him to Wisky. He was named head coach at USU. So maybe they will stick with a pro-style offense.
Utah State offensive coordinator Matt Wells has replaced Gary Andersen as the Aggies' coach.
