I actually think Waters will do well at KSU. Accurate and has athletic ability.
I'm guessing the reason this was asked is because the last time a QB spurned BOB, he ended up as the 3rd string (Danny O'Brien).

Unless they win a MNC, it's all the same. All of these kids all have the same main goal. That's to go to the NFL. And his path is just not as easy with the decision he made. The tutelage of BOB/Fisher facilitates that path. But he made his bed, and we're on to the next prospect.
"A lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep"- Glenn Carson
Get over yourselves.
While that is true, let's look at some other facts in play. KSU might have some returning weapons for Waters (the RB and Lockett and Thompson at WR), but they lose nine starters on defense - all seniors and if Arthur Brown,t he stud LB declares, that is 10. They will be totally reassembling a defense that was pretty decent. They are going to need a Collin Klein like performance out of the gate by Waters to put up a nice win total in year one. Anything short, they might struggle to win 7.
Lol - you get over yourself. The kid decided elsewhere yesterday - people aren't allowed to discuss it or give their opinion? It's a message board in the off season and prime recruiting period. You're kidding yourself if you expect to not see threads like this.
Discussing it, sure. But, saying the kid is going to regret it? Puhlease. How fucking pathetic are some of you.
I've been a Penn Stater all my life. Born in central PA, grew up attending games, graduated from Penn State, and have worked at Penn State.
And with all of that, Penn State fans are easily becoming my least favorite. Some of you are just awful human beings and the biggest whiners.
Don't cry over spilt milk. Move on and support the ones that care...
Tell us how you really feel.
It was a question posed, no one started a thread stating that Waters would regret it. If you don't like discussing recruiting I'd suggest you find a message board with a different theme.
I'm specifically referring to the people who are saying "Yes, he will regret it."
Honestly, though, most people are right in that there is simply no way to know. It's his decision and he made it for his own reasons.
So I'm terrible because I can identify that he doesn't fit into their system and he is NOT the best QB on their roster for that system?
Agree that there will be no way to know unless he says so himself. If Waters is dead set on playing in the NFL, game time should be a good indicator of whether or not he made the right decision. However, if he just wants to go to school, be part of a program he likes and do as good as he can within it, then there will be no way to know. That said, a lot of guys start out wanting to go pro and then realize during college it's not what they want anymore. One thing is clear though...we know he wants to play football in college, so it will be interesting (at least for me) to watch how the QB competition unfolds over at K-State.
Well - I think he'll regret it. Just like I thought Silas and Brown would regret it. I guess I'm an "awful human being" now.
You really should find a new hobby/board.
EDIT to clarify. I don't think he'll regret it because he didn't specifically pick PSU. I think he'll regret it because he doesn't fit that O, and probably won't start (assuming this Sams guy is as legit as they say). If he were a clone of Klien, he would have made the right choice. But he isn't.

Sounds like a plan. I suppose I do have better things to do all day than question whether 20 year olds will regret a personal decision about where they attended college because it wasn't the same decision I made and it doesn't support my selfish desires to have MY football team win games.
(In case you guys haven't been paying attention, the players on the team are have been pretty vocal that they are also fed-up with this same selfish attitude expressed in the fan reactions surrounding Sam Ficken's early struggles, Silas Redd leaving, and Jake Waters committing to KSU.)
Or you could stay and just not open threads called "Will Waters Regret His Choice" if it's going to make you mad.
Okay. Those who are blasting others for saying he may regret it just need to stop. Nobody is calling the kid a scumbag or anything. Nobody is making it personal. Saying he will regret it is simply stating from a FOOTBALL perspective many believe he won't develop like he could have, and later on will wish he made a different choice. Goodness. There is nothing wrong with a bunch of message board fans discussing this.
If he can't beat out Sams, who is basically a QB in the Wildcat, then chances are, he couldn't beat out Bench. At that point, if he is backup in Manhattanville, he should have gone to Akron or FAU.
Thanks Castro. Now that you've told us all how we are supposed to think and act I think we're good to go.
Bob/fisher have not developed one nfl qb yet. I think it is a little early to label these two qb gurus.
I hope they are but it is no guarantee and ksu just had a heisman finalist for a qb this year which is something we haven't had for 18 years.
Devil's advocate: Tell me what that KSU QB is going to get drafted as?
I think the blatant overreaction to the word "regret" is ridiculous. It's not ill will towards the player, it's the curious choice he made based on the circumstances. Strictly looking at school X versus school Y:
School X has one freshman QB on the roster with no experience. School X also has a former NFL coordinator who coached one of the best QBs ever. In his first year at School X, said coach turned a well below average QB with similar skill sets as Waters (pocket passer, slow as dirt) into the best passing QB in the Big Ten.
School Y has multiple scholarship QBs on the roster, one of which has playing time and is the supposed heir apparent. The offense is not a pro style offense whose QB had a tremendous year but is not considered a strong NFL prospect.
As a business decision, it should be an easy choice. Waters followed his heart and not his head and we all know how that can turn out. Regret based on these facts is actually an appropriate reaction, anyone who takes that out of context needs to go somewhere else to troll.
Sorry for the long response, insomnia and the garbage spewed on this thread got me fired up.
But yet you have time to post repeatedly in a thread about that subject. Hmmm.
There's a big difference between predicting someone may regret their choice and HOPING they regret it. For the most part I just see people discussing it and wishing him well.
Your second point is a tough one ... players have also say they feed off of the incredible fan support. Hard to get one without the other ... rabid fan support when things go well and vocal disappointment from fans when things go bad.
